Nice review. I'd like to see more Garbage reviews, but I know you're past the G's now

Just curious if anyone takes any?
I recently got prescribed zoloft and klonopin...I was taking amitriptyline and then trazodone, but neither of those helped at all.

I can't wait for 2015.
New album, plus a re-release of the debut with added material.

I was just wondering what everyone's favorite G video is, and their least favorite?
My favorite:
Push It, hands down the best music video ever made, IMO.
My least favorite:
Shut Your Mouth (Live version)…even though the animated one isn't that great either, I just can't get into the live version at all. In general, I don't like many "live" music videos, WIGU & by extension TTITKB included (this does not include videos with bands playing in a studio, like Vow…to me, there's something different about that, even though I can't really tell you what it is). I'd rather see something more creative for a music video, and a live show setting that isn't really at all a live show just doesn't do it for me; I don't understand the appeal. I love live shows, but not for a music video. And the SYM live video is a step below that IMO just because it has all the weird things popping up in it that don't even fit with the "live" aspect of the video. I just don't get it at all. Love the song to death, hate the videos for it.

Aw, I remember waiting for this album with so much anticipation!
I had just turned 15, first year of high school was almost complete. Other than the debut, this is the only G album where upon getting a copy in my hands I had only heard one song. So the album as a whole (other than Push It) was all completely new to me. I sat in my room with the album playing and just sitting there flipping thru the small booklet and listening along to everything.
Instantly I fell in love with Hammering in My Head and Dumb. WIGU, Medication and Special took a while to grow on me...15 year old me wanted harder music. But I still loved them. The V2.0 tour was also the first time I saw the band live, in October. My dad took me. I saved up money so I could buy a shirt. Loved every minute of it (even though a woman next to us threw her guts up during YLSF, which I believe was the last song before the encore--she was also there with her kid about my age). Good times!
I will always love 2.0. Not only is it just a really great album, it was a big part of my childhood.

We won't mock you. I think that we are generally a pretty understanding bunch around these parts. A couple of things to keep in mind: -As Heaven is Wide has metaphorical lyrics. The song is about having someone destructive in your life, and you wanting to escape them. It's not literally saying to run away from god. The lyrics "If holy is as holy does, this house will burn straight down to hell" are about hypocrisy, not about religion. -Enjoying a piece of fiction isn't necessarily a reflection of yourself. Just because you like it on some level doesn't mean that you share the creator's morality, or that you agree with the creator's intent. FYI, I'm an atheist. I don't think it matters, but you may find it relevant. This is actually a great way to look at it. As I said I do like the song, I've just been keeping myself from enjoying it because of my religion. Which I know is weird but whatever. Anyway though thank you

I almost posted this in the General Topics section but decided on posting it here instead. If a mod feels differently then please move this to the appropriate place.
I'm a Christian myself (but a very open minded one--and trust me, I know there are tons of Christians out there who are so bigoted and full of hatred towards those they see as unfit...that's not me...I'm accepting of everyone and everything, period) but this question is actually geared towards people of all faiths.
I've been obsessed with Garbage since 95 when I was about 12. One thing that has always bugged me even today is the song As Heaven is Wide. I looove the song itself, but I feel like I'm committing some kind of sacrilege when listening to it because of some of the lyrics. I know that might sound kind of silly to some...please don't make fun! Anyway, I guess I'm partially wanting to see if I'm the only fan who has had some issues with the song...and also if anyone has advise or different interpretations of the song to help me get over it and actually be able to enjoy it without feeling like its somehow conflicting with my belief system. Because its an awesome song with a pretty killer beat...but I've just never really been able to fully enjoy it I guess because of a few of the lyrics.
And again please don't judge or mock me about it. I realize it might sound strange but I'm seriously asking.

You know, I'd actually be happy if they simply worked out of the studio for a while. Like, release a whole lot of music and simply not tour for it for a couple of years so that they can just concentrate on writing/recording.
I mean, they won't be around forever...so having a few more albums worth of material would be great.

But Beloved Freak did show up on the magic Ableton gadget in a photo so it would seem as though they have got it worked out as of near the end of the tour. The what? And I'd love to hear that song live!!!

Looking Hot and Push & Shove (the song) are the only two good songs on the new album. The rest just sound like a repeat of Gwen's solo stuff, which was all pretty bad.

Yea, when I set my DVR to record this, it came up and suggested I add an extra 30 minutes recording time to the end of it because it's a "live event." We'll see, but how cool would it be if they broadcast the entire show???
