Hi everyone!
I am new to the board. I wanted to introduce myself, and I didn't really see a specific place for introductions, so thought I would put it here.
I have been a fan of Garbage since their first album (when I was in high school). Unfortunately since I was a poor high school / college student, I actually never saw them live before NYKOP. I really regret that now, but oh well, nothing can be done about it. I kept scouring the internet for years during the hiatus hoping, praying that they would tour again, and finally! ;D ;D ;D
So, I saw them 4 times on this tour - 9:30 Club in D.C., the DC101 Kerfluffle at Jiffy Lube Live in Virginia, The Electric Factory in Philly, and The Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD. I loved each performance and I think Garbage is the best band I have ever seen live (and I've seen ALOT, from small acts to big names/legends, like the Stones, Aerosmith, Madonna, etc.) I actually had tickets to Richmond too but I didn't go because my friend backed out last minute and I didn't want to go by myself, which I think I may need to get over.
My big problem is none of my friends are as obsessed with Garbage as I am. I dragged my husband to the 9:30 Club show and I dragged another friend to the Kerfluffle. My friend in Philly is actually a pretty big fan, but not enough to want to show up early, or stay after. My friend that went with me to Silver Spring was also pretty good, she actually wanted to navigate the crowd with me to get a better place on the floor, but still.... I want to go with someone who wants to show up early to get front row! And stay late to meet them after!
So, I'm looking to connect with Garbage fans in general - I'm very much looking forward to exploring this board, seeing some artwork (perhaps adding some of my own), etc. etc. I also joined the FB and Twitter groups, and am following all relevant people on FB/Twitter.
Also, specifically for fans in the D.C./MD/Northern VA area, I'm especially interested in concert buddies! I would consider traveling as far as NYC and as far south as Richmond (maybe even further) for future shows. Also I am from Ohio originally so if they go back to Ohio on their next tour, I'm going to try to hit up some of those shows too. (I know they are there now but unfortunately due to work commitments I can't get away )
Anyway, thanks for listening and looking forward to making some new friends!
(P.S. - I was in the crowd that stayed after at Silver Spring to meet them - I'm pretty shy so didn't really talk to anyone there, which I realize I need to get over. Was anyone else there? I was the one all by myself, lol, wearing a pretty non-descript purple sweatshirt. Someone asked me to borrow my Sharpie, and I asked many people to take my picture as I didn't have a friend with me to take pictures.)
