And I guess you think you're a pretty little thing don't you? I'd piss in your mouth. The troll's not worth your piss, Lizzie. Forget him. Can't Cry did do a good deed for this board with his offering of nearly 2 dozen remixes over in the Garbage Dump, and I did give him a spank for that. He's a teenager (he's 19). And in his teenage eyes, I can imagine how a 40+ year old woman might be a challenge to perceive as being "physically attractive." I can imagine that Can't Cry may have a mother whose in her 40s, and, I can imagine how that might work against a young man looking upon any 40+ year old woman as being physically attractive. As Can't Cry grows older, ...as he passes 30, ...as he passes 40, ...as he passes 50, Can't Cry is doomed to be overcome by "a humbling enlightenment" that will set his soul free as he grows older. And when he gets beyond the age of 50, that 50+ year old rock'r'girl is gonna be the sexiest looking rig that his eyes have ever laid sight on in his lifetime. Can't Cry, for your boorishly bad manners expressed to our beloved Ms. Manson in this thread, I whip you... ...and I join 'Bruises Are Back In Style' in PISSING IN YOUR MOUTH!!!

This is too WTF funny...
What a nice thing that Can't Cry has done in posting all those remixes in the Garbage Dump. I gave him a "spank" earlier today and thought his "pleasure" count was going to skyrocket as a result of posting all those remixes. I come back to the Garbage Dump later in the day (unaware of what's happening in this thread) and see that Can't Cry's "pleasure" count is dropping ...WTF??? So I ask myself, "has Can't Cry posted something offensive in another thread that is causing his "pleasure" count to drop???" ...Yup!
P.S. When I first saw these latest photos of Shirley, I thought I was looking at photos taken in the V2.0 era (nearly 10 years ago). When I finally came around to my senses and realized I was looking at current photos of Shirley, my jaw dropped to the floor.

Just to answer re: the pregnancy rumor. She said awhile back that she has never been pregnant in her life, so we can assume this lyric is strictly of a hypothetical nature. I thought that was the case (Shirley's claim to never having been pregnant). And I've always taken the "golden shower" lyric with a grain of salt. I'm kind of disappointed in myself that I even bothered to post a comment in this thread. ...lol, I'm BSing myself. This thread is a fun one! I'm fine with the lyrics in WIGU. It's just a work of art, not reality. Trying to parse the meaning of these lyrics is, umm, well ... "I am the eggman, I am the walrus, goo goo g'joob" ... nuff said. Irregardless, Shirley officially announced in 2001 that she was through making shocking statements, and she has pretty much held her word. Oh no, oscillations! Say it ain't so! Shirley going politically correct on us? I second mssm2's request for the source of where you got that from. For the young Garbanians on this board who are saying WTF to "I am the eggman, I am the walrus, goo goo g'joob": I Am The Walrus www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqOKvonLrH8

Happy hours Golden showers On a cruise to freak you out
...might merely have been a whimsically thought of phrase that rhymed ... and now, nearly 10 years later on, has spawned this thread to freak you out, lol.
And also...
Unprotected God I'm pregnant Damn the consequences
...is arguably as controversial.
Why are we not also focusing on the question of whether or not Shirley actually ever did get accidentally pregnant?
Why are we choosing to regard "golden showers" as plausible, but "God I'm pregnant" as not?

If there's any one thing I do know for certain about Ms. Shirley Manson, she is wicked intelligent. Her brain is the sexiest thing about her. (...and that's how I know that Shirley at age 80 is going to be just as sexy in my mind as she is now in her 40s) Shirl's very knowledgable about how diet affects your mind and body. She's sensitive about animal rights. I think she's a genuinely concerned world citizen about problems plaguing our humanity around the globe, and I see the potential in her to become much more 'activist' ... like U2's Bono. And I do not doubt that Shirl's very well versed on this topic: Urine Therapy (note: this Shirley is not Shirley Manson)www.shirleys-wellness-cafe.com/urine.htm#1"For almost the entire course of the 20th century, unknown to the public, doctors and medical researchers have been proving in both laboratory and clinical testing that our own urine is an enormous source of vital nutrients, vitamins, hormones, enzymes and critical antibodies that cannot be duplicated or derived from any other source. They use urine for healing cancer, heart disease, allergies, auto-immune diseases, diabetes, asthma, infertility, infections, wounds and on and on -- yet we're taught that urine is a toxic waste product. This discrepancy between the medical truth and the public information regarding urine is ludicrous and, as the news releases you've just read demonstrate, can mean the difference between life and death to you and to your loved ones." --Martha ChristyI've never experienced this "golden showers" thing (but I have peed into the wind, lol) but I can image that when it happens the first time in a relationship, it's a test of "how much of me are you really willing to put up with?" (i.e., a test of "how much of me do you really love?"), ...it's a test of "are you going to freak-out in revulsion and leave me because of this (a sure sign of an incompatable relationship), or, are you going to come along with me through this wonderfully bizarre moment between us ... because you really do love all of me (a sure sign of a relationship with endless growth potential).

I know were talk'n bout terrestrial radio here, and I totally gave up listening to terrestrial radio when Don Imus was pulled off the air (I was, and I still am today an unapologetic "Imus Addict," so bite ...oh, I stand corrected, LMFAO... "whip" my ass). Where I live in eastern Maine, unless you have an FM antenna the size of an analog TV antenna mounted on the roof of your house with a rotary moter on the antenna to turn it, you will get shit for FM radio station selection and reception here in eastern Maine. There was only one popular music FM station here in eastern Maine that I could receive on a portable radio that I could tolerate listening to. They were playing rock'n'roll pop hits from the '50s to the '70s. They were carrying the "Imus in the Morning" show. When they pulled the plug on Imus, I pulled the plug on my portable radio on my nightstand. With that said, the only radio I listen now to here in eastern Maine is ... internet radio. And I go to Live365.com for my internet radio. At www.live365.com you'll find about a dozen more than 50 stations with Garbage on their playlist. If anyone on this board has a suggestion for a good internet radio site, I'd appreciate very much hearing about it here in "terrestrial radio impoverished" eastern Maine.

To give an interesting sound as if it were on vinyl Exactly! Portishead with their masterpiece "Dummy" (from 1994) made that "vinyl effect" cool... Just an example hereThose clicks doesn't bothered me because they sounds a bit like a part from the beat I agree with ElektroCute. Perhaps it is supposed to give the nostalgic "vinyl pop" but it doesn't quite "commit" the way it does on tracks like ATGITL or BLM do. It sounds like a sloppy accident to me. Those clicks on this track are a half-baked artistic idea. They had me thinking that I had a damaged CD. It's far from obvious that the placement of those clicks are an artistic application. I've got nothing against the artistic application of "needle on vinyl" sounds in an audio track. But when the "needle on vinyl" sound is applied, it should be done in such a manner that the listener will recognize it as obviously being an artistic application. In the Medication track, I don't think it was Garbage's intent to cause the listener to think that their CD had a defect it, but that's what's happened here. As Gomer Pyle would have said, "Shame, Shame, Shame!!!" Well, "Shazam!" ... Gomer Pyle MySpace page: profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=42000500

I actually bought another copy just after V2.0 came out because I loved the song, and thought something was wrong with my copy. Come to find out, it was a universal sound. I first became aware of these clicks this past spring when I made my first Garbage mp3 CD. There were scratches on the surface of my V2.0 CD, and I made the assumption that those clicks were caused by those scratches. And I was thinking then that those clicks couldn't possibly be part of the original recording. In August, our town library had a book, CD, and video tape sale. Among the CDs for sale was a mint condition V2.0. I left that library sale walking on cloud nine cuz not only did I get that V2.0 CD, I also got an official Garbage VHS tape of the S/T vids, a B-52s VHS tape of their '79-'98 vids, and a B-52s "Cosmic Thing" CD ...all for only $8!!! ...I could hardly believe it! ...like, is this a fantastic dream in my sleep that I'm going to wake up from?! ...I damn near felt like I was doing something criminal walking away from that library with those Garbage & B-52s CDs and videos for only $8. Well anyway, yesterday I started working on ripping a new Garbage mega-compilation mp3 CD. When I went to rip the V2.0 tracks to mp3, I used the mint CD I got from the library. While checking the mp3 playback of Medication, I was hearing those damn clicks again. So, it was only yesterday that I first became aware that those clicks are a part of the original recording.

I have two V2.0 CDs. On both of these CDs, I hear eight 'clicks,' or 'pops,' or 'snap' sounds in the Medication track happening at these time counts:
0:32, 0:34, 0:37, 0:40, 1:35, 1:38, 1:41, and 1:43
These click sounds are exactly like the sound of a phonograph needle hitting a scratch on a vinyl record. These eight click sounds are so annoying to me that I'm going after them to cut them out of an mp3 file using an "Audacity" digital audio editor (a freeware program). The first three clicks (0:32, 0:34, 0:37) were easy to locate in the sound wave and cut out. The fourth click (0:40) is a bit more difficult to locate in the sound wave. I haven't tried to locate the latter four clicks in the soundwave yet.
Why are these eight click sounds in this Medication track? Why would Garbage intentionally do this? I say this because the positioning of these eight clicks appears to be too orderly for it to be an randomly occuring anomoly in the mass production of this CD.

I've ripped an mp3 from the "Wonderfully Stupid" Dannii Minogue vs Garbage mashup video and tweaked it (cleaned it up) in my audio editor. There are a couple of audio problems in the raw mp3 rip from this video that I think have been serving to detract from one's listening pleasure of this song. Go to the "garbage/dannii minogue mashup" thread in the Garbage Dump to read more about it.
Both the raw mp3 version and my tweaked mp3 version of "Wonderfully Stupid" are available to download in the "garbage/dannii minogue mashup" thread.

Related-ish, the scratchy-whistle noise from the studio HIMH is on the live OHWIR. And I love the bubble effect from Not My Idea. Damn, I didn't think anyone else liked the bubbles except me! I LOVE that bubble effect. Yea, bubbles kick ass! More bubbles, more cowbell! Hahaha! If anyone's confused about what we're talking about here... (Because I did get confused. I went looking for this "bubble effect" in the studio Not My Idea. LMFAO!!!) ...we're talking about the live preformances of OHWIR and Not My Idea in the Edinburgh '99 concert. ...have I got this right heartmightmelt, Trader J, and Mysteron? ...cuz I don't know for sure. LMFAO!!!

It's also a bit of a drag live. I don't like any live version post '99. The way they were performing SG live in '99 was the best. In the Edinburgh '99 performance of SG, Steve was making an "ooo-da-la, ooo-da-la, ooo-da-la" sound on the keyboard throughout the song (I love that!!!), and in the latter half of the song, a recorded loop of Shirley's voice saying "come on, Shirl" [from the Tornado b-side] and the piano part as heard in the studio version was heard. I prefer listening to the Edinburgh '99 performance of SG over the studio version. It brings to mind how I prefer the Bizarre '96 performance of DNT over the studio versions. Edit update: I just discovered that the "ooo-da-la, ooo-da-la, ooo-da-la" sound in the Edinburgh '99 performance of SG is the same "ooo-da-la, ooo-da-la, ooo-da-la" sound heard at the start of the Bizarre '96 performance of DNT. I gotta have more "ooo-da-la, ooo-da-la, ooo-da-la!!!" (I gotta have more cowbell!!!) 2nd update: The "ooo-da-la, ooo-da-la, ooo-da-la" sound is in the "DNT (Pal Mix)" studio track. Is that the first and only appearance of this sound in a Garbage studio track, and does that sound appear in any other live song performance other than DNT and SG?

#Flaming-Pissed#This thread is really pissing me off...
If you're a self-proclaimed hardcore Garbage fan, and you're denying the miracle blessing of the "Stupid Girl" song, then you are an infidel to the Garbage faith, and you should be expelled from the Church of Garbage.
#8#
Do hardcore Elton John fans really even like "Crocodile Rock"?
Yes, forever!!!
(CR was 1st #1 song for Elton in U.S.)

I love the music of Chrissy and The Pretenders. I love the sound of TMWIH. And I've decided it's time for me to stop criticizing the decision of putting TMWIH on the AG album.
I'd love to see Shirley and Chrissy get together and do a duet album of cover or new songs. They sounded so great together singing "Talk of the Town" live on The Pretenders tribute show on VH-1. What a blast it would be if Garbage and The Pretenders did a world concert tour together! With Shirley's adoration of Chrissy, no doubt Shirley would be estatic with joy if Garbage and The Pretenders hooked up to do a world concert tour together. I'D LOVE TO SEE THAT HAPPEN!!!
