It's around 210,000 worldwide. Mostly units from the US tally it up.

Some people are invisible (like myself), but most of it is Google/Yahoo Spider bots. They basically crawl the website for information so when people type in a question in Google/Yahoo, the information brought back from the spider is there.

The series starts mid-September, which now I'm guessing is why the new Garbage video is being held back for production to string along with this show. Good promo for it too. It's playing with Dark Knight Rises and The Amazing Spider Man promos.

It's not too hard to notice something's going on nowadays. Everyone has access to the internet now. How many millions of people are aware that Garbage have a new album out? It sold 50,000 copies last week, compared with the 150,000 sold by BLM on Week 1. Have you ever considered the possibility that the bad mastering on BLM is what's keeping at least some of these people away now? Because that will sure be the case next time 'round for me. Garbage fans aren't of the same ilk as bloody Justin Bieber fans. We don't need the music forced down our throats to be aware of its existence. Regards. Bleed Like Me had a million dollar backing for promos, radio spins and adverts. Bleed Like Me also came out after Beautiful Garbage, which was reviewed as great by critics, but not by most fans (mostly Version 2.0 fans). When Bleed Like Me kicked in, and Why Do You Love Me leaks came out, fans were happy she was back to her red hair and back into the 'rock' aspect of Garbage. Thus, this created buzz, and a video with a good budget came out for it. First week sales were 75K, and steadily dropped. 75K sales in 2005 is about 25-30K sales in 2012. Music industry sales change. Not Your Kind Of People is all on them. They do the promos, they do the adverts, and yes, they pay for everything. They don't have a million dollar contract to do all these sorts of things. Using whatever money they had, they used on videos, promos, DJ spins, touring, CD press, etc. Clearly from a independent standpoint, they are doing marvelous on all the charts around the world. Don't forget in 2005 the music industry was different. Selling 300K a week was excellent, but certainly not hard to do, nowadays 300K is like selling 1M units a week. Clearly a huge difference. Not to mention they are up against other bands/artists who clearly have huge singles out (Adele, Carrie Underwood, Norah Jones, etc). I understand your standpoint, I'm not going down your throat on it. I'm just saying that I'm not going to not buy a CD just because a certain someone masters/produces it. Maybe I'm oblivious to it, but I hear everything just fine with my car stereo and headphones. Clearly though, 80% of Garbage fans will buy the CD regardless of said topic, the other 20% either won't buy it from not liking the songs or by, your standards, it's mastering. All said and done, whatever CD they make, whatever merchandise they make, I'm buying. If that makes me a fool, then I'm one happy fool.

Why do you people even care? I enjoy the songs. No need to bicker about petty things. That's a good point. You don't care about the quality of the mastering but a lot of other people clearly do. You find such matters trivial and to be of nit-picking scope, while others get so passionate about the issue that they've vowed to not purchase the next album if they see that Emily Lazar was involved in its mastering. But you don't care either way. So, surely, as actual fans, we should now make our judgements heard in such droves that the band finally listens to our requests for once again decently mastered Garbage albums. What would the mastering of the next LP matter to you? You don't give a toss either way. Others differ. People do that. Honestly, I'm not going to enter a store, look at a CD, see who mastered it and say "You know what, I don't like who mastered this CD, not buying it." I mean, the people who care about who mastered it and who'd rather just buy the CD/MP3's clearly out-weigh each other. The people who have degrees in sound engineering or are sound genius's will clearly state a point about it, but most, if not all fans will buy the CD regardless. Any band/singer owes us a good CD. How many times have we heard Shirl say in her posts on FB or on her twitter how much she appreciates us. Not many bands/singers do that nowadays. Just like any retailer - you expect the best from their word of mouth. Granted, we spend the cash to help them, but we also want them to deliver great videos and tours, and merchandising and other sorts. As far as how it was mastered, I don't hear anything we haven't heard. Distorted loops and winding guitars with loud pounds is what Garbage essentially is. I honestly never heard of this 'war' till' about a week ago. It was never my first instinct to say "Hey, you know what, the process and mastering really irks me on these CDs". I'm just very thankful they even came out with more CD's after Beautiful Garbage, so maybe my bias is altered. However, I don't recall any type of 'war' like this from any band till' now, and I'm not sure why it's such a big deal. If you don't like the mastering, then don't buy the CD. iTunes provides CD quality previews, if you already bought the album, you should have just previewed the iTunes clips and batted an eyelash before buying the album, or even researched on who mastered the CD (if that's what makes you buy a CD).

Amazons Best Sellers list, both the Deluxe and Regular version are shooting back up.
The Deluxe for the past 2 weeks was hovering around the 105-160 mark, it's now been steady for the past 2 days at 100-80, with it being at 80 now.
The regular version went WAY back, around 20,000, and now it shot back up to 3,550 within the past day.
The Deluxe is #66 in the Rock Category, and #79 in the pop Category.
They also shot up the Movers And Shakers catagory, and Hot New Releases.

I'm not going into the whole "Everyone wants another Version 2.0" argument because I don't need to keep explaining it. I think people were so hyped up about it being another "Push It" type video that they were disappointed when it comes out abstract and dreamy.
I personally loved it. I don't hate any videos they ever did, and even though Sophie Muller really did nothing for the videos for Bleed Like Me, I still enjoyed the concepts of the video.
Everyone needs to stop expecting so much from the band. Do we even realize that this record is a god-send? After barely getting Bleed Like Me, we should ecstatic about this record, and stop having high expectations with the assumption they are releasing a "Version 3.0".
I thoroughly enjoyed the chat, the interview, the video, and excited to just get the record in my hand. I don't care for charts or how well they do. I have their music. That's all that SHOULD matter. We want them to be successful, and believe me, so do I. Expecting them to release a 6 digit video after they JUST started a record company and doing things completely by themselves is just not fair to them. I don't mind negative reviews because that is everyone's prerogative, but don't diss the band and expect so much from them. At least give them an opportunity to get the record going and go back on tour. Tours/gigs/promos/videos/etc ALL cost money, and out of their pocket, because usually the record company would take care of that, and since they own their own label now, that is where the money comes from.
As for the pics we saw on Twitter, quite possibly was just a photo-shoot for the single release pamphlet or just future promo pics for magazines. Who knows, they might have shot the video for Battle In Me during the Blood For Poppies video shoot. It's quite possible those pics could show up in a future video. In this industry, getting things done all at once is usually how they do it, so you never know.

Blood For Poppies for me. Much more friendlier when it comes to radio, Battle In Me is excellent, but the grit in Blood For Poppies just nailed it for me.
