House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. First time started reading this some years back in the UK and relocated before I had the chance to finish.. Twas a library book so I had to return it. My friend just found a copy for me from a second hand bookshop and now I've got the chance to read it completely

Im quite suprised actually, I thought it was practically unknown. Found the book via Poe. She's the author's sister and her album Haunted was released the same time as House of Leaves, and the songs are at least partially based on the book.

the Great Gatsby -Fitzgerald then Things Fall Apart- by someone I can't spell the name of by memory All the Pretty Horses Oedipus the King To the Lighthouse -Virginia Woolf I read "The Great Gatsby" this year suprisingly. Nice and short and is more interesting the more you analysis it for yourself. Oedipus the King, I read a few years ago along with Electra and Antigone. Very odd plays to say the least but has inspired lots of literature throughout the ages.

BTW, there is another thread already Andy, it got buried I guess. I just started Michael Connelly's "Overlook" Great author, set here in Los Angeles. It's fun to read about things happening, and streets, and locales you've been to fictionally portraid as crime scenes. Read his stuff. Author of "Bloodworks", although that movie does not reflect the book to a tee. Sort of like Dan Brown's "DaVinci Code" and most book into movies don't.

I just started yesterday "Unnatural Causes" by Noguchi. It is about a star who was murdered by drowning in the ocean. But now the hard part is proving it was actually murdered and not accidental drowning, or suicide. Noguchi used to be the head coroner of Los Angeles who's autopsies included Marilyn Monroe, John Belushi, and other high profile cases. So this is sort of a fictionalized account of real events with the names changes of course.
