Mine was back in 1997. I was watching "More TV" which was a cable show where they showed videos in order to sell CD's. They were showing the usual Enya and videos like that. I wasn't really watching it, just playing Microprose F117 on the pc. Then the drums started for Stupid Girl. I looked up and was intrigued by the start of the video and all of it's distorted visions. I forgot I was even playing the video game and my plane crashed. I have been hooked ever since.

one of my classmates in elementary school was a red head and she had this whole obsession with famous redheads, including shirley. so her listening to the st was the first thing, my own first g album however was bg.

I didn't like G when they first blew up. I really hated OHWIR and Stupid Girl. I thought they were so poppy and damn annoying. Then I met my boyfriend and he was a huge G fan. He made me go see them live during the first leg of the Version 2.0 tour. I wasn't really interested because I thought all he wanted to do was stare at Shirley the whole time. Garbage took the stage and blew my mind. Shirl was wearing a tiny mini skirt and white blouse. The experiance is engrained in my brain. After that, I stole all my boyfriends Garbage cds and became a Garbage freak.

Commercial for V2.0. I always hated, and still do, when LP's are advertised on tv, but just hearing "I think I'm paranoid" made me go to wal-mart and buy it the next day.

Back in '96, over my friend's house. He goes "Hey listen to this band I like. They're called Garbage." Me thinking "Yeah I bet that's a fitting name. HAHAHA! ;D" I think we were playing video games at the same time, so it was basically just background music, but I think I liked it. Then they were basically out of my subconscious til '98 and "Push It" blew me away, but I didn't buy V2.0 til a few months later, when my dad said I could get a cd for wathcing my brother the whole summer. ITIP had come out by then and I knew right away that was what I wanted to get. Then a few months later I bought the debut

I'd always liked "only happy when it rains" but I guess not enough to care about who sang it. Then like last year or the year before I saw a commercial on VH1 and it had clips of singers spliced with clips of Cherry Lips and the song playing. I didn't know who it was so I looked it up on kazza and ever since then I've been obsessed with Garbage.

Only Happy When It Rains sounded intriguing, but I'd only heard bits and pieces of it so I didn't really care too much about it. But then I heard Milk... And I fell madly in love. And I got pissed off with MTV cos they would only send short clips of OHWIR and never the entire video (music awards related). When I finally did get to hear the entire song I was blown away. I had to get the cd. 3 years later I bought it....... *lol* I forgot about them and then V2.0 came out and ITIP really made my blood boil, so I finally got my arse out the door and bought it. Two months later I bought their first album.

October 2001 I saw Androgyny on MCM ( a french equivalent of MTV ), I bought the album the following week.
I already knew Stupid Girl, but I didn't really like it.Now I think that Stupid Girl is far better than Androgyny.

I hated it the first time I heard it/saw the video on MTV. But then I baught the album and was totally blown away by it. And it has remained my fave G song since then, 5 1/2 years ago. @nette

I heard about them through No Doubt (lol), when the Cosmogirl of the year was going on, so I hated a band I did not know. I finally downloaded OHWIR, and got BG the next day, now they are my favourite band.

I have been hooked ever since. my first taste of Garbage came one late night while surfing thru the channels, back in 1999. the jay leno show had some band on that night performing some song live when i quickly rushed by it. upon putting it back to NBC, i noticed that a certain red-head was singing...i stuck around & fell in love with the band. They sang Special by the way.
