I just noticed that Shirley seems to be answering all the questions...not that I find it a problem. But I was just wondering if it's because she's being pushy, or if it's becuase everyone else happens to be busy?
TTFN,
John
John......I'd like to answer your question, but shirley won't let me. Besides, I'm kinda busy. Duke
Dear John,
I answered the most questions because I am an E-mail wizard.
Cheers,
Shirley
Ps. Smart girls are ALWAYS pushy.

Garbage,
When you headline shows, do you choose your own opening acts? If so, how do you go about choosing them? What do you look for in an opening band? Any response will be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!!
-G. Davis
G. Davis
......yes we choose the bands that open for us.......we pick bands whose music we like........and if they're all good-looking like Girls Against Boys, Shirley's even happier...........maybe the next one will be the female version of them (I hope so).
Duke
Dear G.Davis,
If we take a band on tour for any length of time we ALWAYS choose the band depending on their music AND their vibe. The vibe has got to be great!!!!!!!
Cheers

G-
Our current European tour is the first time that we haven't been hands-on in choosing our openers. We're using local bands that the promoter thinks would be good. Usually we choose a band because we like what they do, and we think they would be compatible with us while at the same time not too similar.
Thanks,
Steve

i would really like to know where you got the boots you were wearing in the video "stupid girl"?
JVaz120171

I am a songwriter and although your stuff is great, I wondered if you ever considered buying a song from someone not in the band? Just wondering. Also, what do you think of Radio Head's OK Computer CD? I think it's hot.
Thanks
Stephen
Stephen
......fortunately, between the 4 of us we manage to come up with enough songs.....but we often do the occasional cover on b-sides........we can't really listen to tapes sent to us for that purpose because we might get sued for plagiarism or some such nonsense.....we probably can't afford you anyway.
Duke
Dear Stephen,
No we would NOT consider buying someone elses songs. That would defeat the whole point of being in a band. As for Radiohead.........anything they do is pure and wondrous in my opinion.
Cheers
Shirley
Stephen,
I think we're going to be using our own songs for awhile. We've got a lot of songs left in us yet, hopefully. Thanks for offering, though. Radiohead rules in Garbageland. I'm jealous because the guitar work is so awesome.

Dear Garbage,
My name is Evan. I am 15 years old and you are my absolute favorite band. Is there anyway I can purchase your B-sides? I know some are on compilation albums, but are there any plans to release them all on one CD? I would love to hear more music from your group, the music on both your albums is wonderful and more would be great. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter.
Bezem36
hi evan
........we have discussed putting out a compilation of B-sides .......but there are no concrete plans yet.........in the meantime, the b- sides do pop up as imports of our european singles here and there......thanks for asking.
Duke
Dear Bezem36,
We will most probably put out a low cost B-side album at some point as there seems to be a growing demand for such a thing.Hang on in there. We will try to get it out ASAP.
Thanykyou for your sweet E-mail.
Cheers

Is it true that Shirley was in a band previous to Garbage, I heard she was in one called Goodbye Mr. Mackenzie..........if this is so ..........where can I get some of thier stuff??? Also I am from DC and I loved you guys both on October and at the WHFS Nutcracker show.......
peace,
Jarrod
Dear Jarrod,
Thanks for your praise of the WHFS show last december! We had a BLAST!!!!! And yes it is true that I was in a previous band to Garbage. Infact.....I was in two. The first band I was in was Goodbye Mr Mackenzie and the other was called Angelfish. Not quite sure where you can get hold of any copies though. Maybe on import through an independent record store.........or the internet of course!!!!!!
Cheers
Shirley
