They should be too fucking embarassed to submit this song for shit because that is what it is...why would you want to promote the fact that your new single is nothing more than a Pretenders rip off and a rather poorly executed one at that-there is nothing new or original about it which is as far from Garbage like as they could get...it felt like a half assed offering cause they felt like they HAD to put something new on AG...I would have rather had an unreleased B-side or one of their many other recorded but not released songs they have...I love Garbage but I also care enough to be blatantly honest so I had to say this... I disagree, TMWIH is one of my ALL time favorite Garbage tracks. The lyrics are amazing and the bridge/end of the song seal the deal. Garbage did a great job with this track and it'd be amazing if it got more praise than it does. I understand you think the song is stinkier than a vagabonds ass; however, chill out and take like a few valium and be happy Garbage might get a little notoriety for once.

this song'll never get nominated. not that it's awful, but it's far too mediocre and generally unknown.
i was profoundly underwhelmed and disappointed by this song. sounded like they were just trying to spit something new out for the greatest hits in the least amount of time possible.

I love Tell me where it hurts. It's one of my top 3 Garbage songs, along with Use Me and Silence is Golden. It may not sound like a ST song, but that doesn't mean it doesn't sound like Garbage. Really TMWIH sounds just like TWINE, except a faster and slightly more sophisticated. I don't think it's going to get nominated, but that doesn't mean it's not a great song.

Well, I guess all arts award shows are "lame" affairs, but it must be quite a rush to be recognized by your peers at one of those award shows. As for TMWIH, I often find myself lamenting that Betcha wasn't chosen over TMWIH to be the new release single. When I imagine in my mind a video made for Betcha that's as visually edgy, fun, and addictive to watch as Push It or Paranoid, it comes so easy for me in my mind to think that Betcha would have gotten so much more exposure on radio and music television channels around the world. There's no doubt in my mind that had Betcha been chosen as the new release single, it would have certainly gotten a whole lot more airplay coverage on radio and TV in the USA (and TMWIH never made it onto TV in the USA, right?). When the choice was made to go with TMWIH for a new single release, I wonder if a TMWIH vs Betcha argument happened amongst the band members, or happened between the band members and the record company execs. I'm so totally of the mindset that choosing TMWIH over Betcha for the new release single was a major faux pas [in terms of doing the thing that would optimize your odds of achieving commercial success] for Garbage. I think Betcha would have been a hit because it was a parody of PCD and a lot of people would have missed to joke and taken it at face value since that's what radio plays these days. And I had an idea for the video where Shirley and a bunch of drag queens are dancing around like PCD in a strip club.

I love TMWIH. i dont think it'd get nominated for a grammy because it's far too unknown in the us. i wish it wasn't. it's not a pretenders rip off in my oppinion. it's certainly not their best but the grammy's was never about who was the best in a category because lets face it, garbage would at least have a few more nods. i dont know that i'd say i'd expect it to be a grammy nod/winner but i love it. so.... suck it.

it wasnt released over there - why it was even submitted is ridiculous in itself - not to diss the song but it had zero chance

What's ironic is that other songs with as distant a shot as TMWIH DID get nominated. 0_0

I knew it wouldn't get nominated. It's nothing to do with the quality of the song, but all about the promotion, and it wasn't out there for long or promoted that well, so practically no one but us knew about it and got into it. That and the Grammys are usually only a narrow scope of music that should be nominated, while every band that deserves to be acknowledged is ignored.
