Both performances were awesome. I showed up relatively early to the Portland show since I'm a shorty and managed to make it to the third "row." Shirley and the band still know how to command the stage. I went in not having listened to anything off SLB but was instantly enamored by what I heard. It was riveting and different at the same time, and the lyrics felt from the heart like in BLM. They played "The Trick is to Keep Breathing" and "#1 Crush," songs I've been waiting eleven years to see live! "Subhuman" was a nice touch too! From Portland: From Seattle: I bought my ticket late for the Seattle show so ended up in the balcony, but it had its advantages. While not as "in-your-face" as being up close to the stage, it was definitely easier to see the whole band, not to mention over peoples' heads, and the acoustics sounded nicer to me. They played "Milk" at Cigarettes After Sex's request, sang Happy Birthday to Brad (not Pitt), and ended on "#1 Crush." I felt like a little kid all over again. Bummed now that it's over. I got to see Garbage live again, and just like last time, it's all downhill from here. Until next time, that is.
