read on yahoo that jackie earle haley has been signed to star in the re-launching of the "nightmare on elm street series". haley, a former child actor in the 1970's, has been on a comeback in the last few years. he was nominated for an oscar for "little children" and starred in "watchmen" recently.
of all the horror movie reboots that have been made lately, i'll be curious to see this one most of all. haley will have a daunting task replacing robert englund, who made freddy krueger an iconic figure in the 80's and 90's.
the movie is being directed by music video veteran samuel bayer, who directed nirvana's "smells like teen spirit" and garbage's "OHWIR" and "stupid girl". filming starts may 5 in chicago.

I don't think I like this idea. Robert Englund MADE the Freddy Kreuger movies. Thems some big shoes to fill.
