Helena Bonham Carter is to play children's author Enid Blyton in a new television biopic from the BBC.
Commenting on the film, Bonham Carter said: "It's a long time since I have read such a well written script with as complex and fascinating a character as Enid. I hope I do her justice. And I hope I get to drink lashings of Ginger Beer."
Joining Bonham Carter in the film are Matthew Macfadyen, who will play Blyton's publisher and first husband, Hugh Pollock, and Denis Lawson, who will play her second husband, surgeon Kenneth Darrell Waters.
