Also I love her videos (esp. My Delirium - looks like a-ha - Take on Me animation style)
Try to get her album; I promise you'll keep it on repeat!

Now, this is really interesting:
The Guardian review of "Ladyhawke" album
Not many budding pop women take their names from strange 1980s fantasy films starring Matthew Broderick and Rutger Hauer, but then New Zealand's Pip Brown isn't your typical next-big-thing. Adored by Courtney Love and Kylie, the 27-year-old arrives in the middle of the synthpop revival like a made-for-Smash Hits star - bold, strange and packing a cargo of melodic, dramatic songs. Magic may be the best opening track on any album this year, a widescreen electronic epic that recalls the bassline from Pet Shop Boys' Opportunities, a vocal line from Garbage's Queer, and the icy grandeur of The Passions. Dusk Till Dawn, My Delirium and Another Runaway are similarly monumental, telling tales of hearts being hijacked and heads being messed with to tunes that should have been soundtracks to Molly Ringwald's pouts. Smarts to her, too, for making her pop sound so good that it never sounds like pastiche.
I wonder is she likes Garbage...

Woo! New Zealand music ftw! Actually, she's not even very popular here, and I'm not really a fan of hers either. I don't know what to say about Paris Is Burning - really don't like it, but I guess it's not really my 'type' of music.

Woo! New Zealand music ftw! Actually, she's not even very popular here, and I'm not really a fan of hers either. Her popularity grow up pretty fast. She's more known in UK than NZ (she live in UK). If you don't like her, it's your right... Listen to the rest of her songs. What do you think?

Been loving her since September! She's like 2008's version of Kim Wilde.

I wonder is she likes Garbage... How could a 20-something woman making pop/rock/electro music not admire Shirley? When she was a young teen Shirley was the coolest front woman around. Her myspace doesn't list G as an influence though. And yes, I like Ladyhawke too, and I need to hear "Magic" now to try and spot the sample.

"Magic" actually reminds me of Depeche Mode's "Precious" meets "Enjoy The Silence"

Love her - not a big fan of Paris is burning but I really like Magic and My Delirium. Her voice is pretty nice. The best part of her music however are the synths!

Definetly a highlight. I might invest in her album (with that track on it, of course!)

Definetly a highlight. I might invest in her album (with that track on it, of course!) I want to buy her album too! Her album is as good as the latest Cut Copy album... Also I recommend you to listen to another great and super-catchy song: a collaboration with Australian band PNAU: PNAU - Embracewww.youtube.com/watch?v=eo2aOEhlqfQ@oscillations: can you re-post that bonus track (or pm) please?

Yeah, Embrace is a good song. I like Come Together by PNAU also. Australia is the place for indie dance music lately.

^ It says expired for me also when I tried to download the file.

I've been listening to Magic, and I can't figure out where the supposed Queer vocal sample is. There's this "ahh, ahh" in the background, but I don't recall Queer having any vocal like that.
