Ok....Ok better late than never :0)
Sun, April 10 was a big day for me, the first time I would see Garbage after 10 yrs of die hard fandom.
I made sure to get to the Warfield early, as I was 15 in line and was on row ones barracade at the stage.
I took a poster, they made me coatcheck it, cameras WERE allowed, however, the flash was not, therefore my pictures came out dark and crappy :0(
The dead 60's is the opening act, they're good in a Franz Ferdinand way, however, their songs are repetitive and all sound the same and be prepared for gratuitous use of a cowbell and bongos (they're hot though, around early 20's and I guess from liverpool england).
Garbage took to the stage led by Johnny Cash's 'Hurt', Shirley decked in a red dress version of the Europe tour, black belt, red ring, hair half up half down, the leopard boots from the France Rolling Stone shoot, fishnets.....She permeated Glam Icy confidence, I loved it as she was absolutely the most beautiful specimen ever! (She did cough though, and I think she blew her nose in a stage rag :0(...but she did great!)
She appologized about being ill, and ironically i thought they'd cancel, they cancelled Seattle on Fri, and even cancelled the SF interviews on Sunday.....but they played on, and it was damn good!
They opened w/ queer, and I believe they played:
Queer, Vow, Hammering in my head, Push it, Special, I think Im paranoid, Shut your mouth, bad boyfriend, bleed like me, why do you love me, Only Happy When It Rains, Sex is not the enemy the encore included Cherry Lips and Right Between the Eyes.....I feel like I'm forgetting a song somewhere.....
But they played their hearts out, and afterwards got no love out back, as their manager appologized that he'd have to shuttle them off due to her illness and wanting to get her to rest....
Souvenirs included: T-shirts, hats, posters, keychains
I bought a black shirt for 25$ red GARBAGE on front,
Red X on back similar to the X on avril's new album, in the X is ''Garbage Bleed Like Me world Tour 2005, with the cities on it.....
and a Keychain for 8$ (Bleed like me album cover on front, on back them lined up in the red)
They really didnt have too much to choose from, I wish they'd had stickers
overall a fabulous concert, best ever and Shirley was hot, I was right in front of Duke.....She tended to go by Steve and stay in the middle more, but the people she knew in the middle were from the WDYLM video shoot, like 'Dancing Lou' and she even said theres my friends form the WDYLM video, so maybe thats why she stayed by them, a confidence in familiar faces thing, i dunno
A+ overall
Sorry for lackluster review, I'm at work and can't do/say/type too much right now.....
