"THE FUTURE IS HERE AND SHE IS BEAUTIFUL. i rang in the new year with a smile from ear to ear, and shed myself of fright by the christmas lights.
the cold air and snow reflect the hope i know is there. glaring white- almost taunting us because she KNOWS how much we need her.
i hope for us all the be able to tap into that light this year, and to trip the fear off it's feet. we must. as individuals and as a team.
fight the good fight, like there has never been another. reborn into the future - freak out and enjoy the madness of this life. put on your helmet, whip out the wand and break open this opportunity titled: 2009
i look forward to getting my channels straight to show you what i've made to commune with you.

Had a wonderful night - First the film for OOOM and there was Q&A - Melissa seems so down to earth and humble it was great to be there.
Gig was awesome I'm so happy I finally got to see her live though I left just before the end (part of me just couldn't miss the last train) so I missed "Real A Lie" which I'm gutted about but at least I saw "Followed The Waves" - New material was so powerful live!
It was a real 50/50 mix of old and new. "Taste You" was half in french and english. She opened with "Lightning is My Girl" and did "Overpower Thee" and "I Need I want I Will" (later was bloody awesome).

Yarr! I left just during their wierd duet I was gutted but it was all MAdM for me
I think these are all the songs she did (though not in order):
This Would Be Paradise (intro) Lightning is My Girl (Opening) Taste You (eng/french) I Need I want I Will Overpower Thee Followed The Waves Real A lie ( I missed it *sob* *sob*)
Out Of Our Minds Isis Speaks The Hunt Meet Me (On The Dark Side) 22 Below Lead Horse Follow The Map (pretty sure this was done)
MAdM and AP did a song in tribute to Peter Steele, bass player with Type O Negative who died last week - lyrics were something like "Loving you is like loving the dead" with some lines from Black Sabbath's Paranoid. I missed this as it was really late and transport is a nightmare in London
Dance Away: And, Elvis Costello's wife is Diana Krall. Oh god, do I love the music of Diana Krall! And, I know it's an aspiration of Shirley to do the kind of music that Krall is doing. Shirley's mother was a 'big band' music singer (sample "Glenn Miller" big band)

david0913: Oh my, this is too deep to believe; the amount of conceptualization and depth of the discourse can only make me feel...what do you guys talk about on here, anything [sigh]?

orthodoxparadox36: I think that album actually saved, well, a few of the most important things in my life. I am eternally grateful for the way you all chose to dedicate your collective creative genius; something which makes it that much more special, not to mention, genuine!
