While there's not even a hint of a realease date for PJ Harvey's new album in China, we're obvious going to get Alanis Morrisette's new album on May 18th, the same day as everywhere else. now i've serious problem with that. back in the days when she was making really cool music and i loved her to the bone nobody here seemed to give a shit about who she was and now she's a popstar, making pop music and eveyone just hails to her?! i mean her song Everything is literally EVERYWHERE!!! i dunno, guess i'll being prejudiced but i've lost my passion in her, she's no longer the angry, spirited rock chick i used to love...

i've lost my passion in her, she's no longer the angry, spirited rock chick i used to love... its kind of the same for me, but i guess she just calmed down.. how old was she when she released "jagged little pill" ? 20 ? now she's nearly 30 maybe that's why. but still i can't wait for the new album. but the cover art is ugly as ever. i thought it wasn't possible to make it any uglier than the feast on scraps dvd..

how old was she when she released "jagged little pill" ? 20 ? now she's nearly 30 maybe that's why. well Shirley Manson is 38 and she still has a lot to say. Alanis shouldn't have run out of inspiration at such a young age... she's too comfortable with her star status, i guess that's why.

well Shirley Manson is 38 and she still has a lot to say. Alanis shouldn't have run out of inspiration at such a young age... she's too comfortable with her star status, i guess that's why. she was maybe seen as an angry girl during 'jagged little pill', but she always acted like a smart ass, with tortured and introspective lyrics and at-least-5-syllables words (that i've always failed to understand lol) about how great she was. she sounded very (too much?) mature then and far too pretentious (to me), and I think ageing hasn't undermined her vision of her own self as a perfect being of wisdom, but has even improved it. maybe that's why there isn't that 'angry alanis' thing anymore.

well her lyrics are somewhat interesting, despite the fact that few people really understand them, and her ability as a lyricist has improved over the years. that i'll give it to her. but her has exposed herself as a lousy musician. true, i mean back in the Jagged Little Pill era she screamed out most of her songs so it didn't show the fact that she's in fact not a very good singer; then during the Supposed Former Infauation Junkie era she wispered most of her songs all over again, and the songwriting was especially good in that one, so it was another great album. but in Under Rug Swept... well she's matured up and wanted to share her REAL feelings now, and her poor singing voice as well... i know alot of people will disagree with me but to me URS is her compromise to comercial sales figures. and she simply repeated her pattern of songwriting in the JLP days, leaving the anger out because most people can't stand it. then you get another so-called pop-rock diva. well, i guess nothing's really wrong with that, but the rich little girl is not who she started out as anymore. she has lost her anger as well as her courage to make music that is original and uncomercial. and to me, it's sad. really.

Stop being a stupid cunt. When you get mad, how long does that last? If you listen to the song 'This Grudge' she talks about how she's tired of all that shit. People always bitch when a newbie artist gets good play, they cant be new forever, its not like she cant release a record until people forget about her again, she's famous, that doesnt mean her music is different. People are just to stupid to see past the fancy CD case, "man look at the new alanis, gross, im vintage and emo, I dont listen to that."
Alanis still makes good music, and just because its popular doesnt mean its bad, and when you say "she's making pop music!" pop is POPULAR, a fuckin KORN song could be pop if it got air play like most "pop" songs get, before you start crying about stupid crap, think about it for a minute you goddamn bitch.

I tried...I really tried to love this cd. I WAS a huge Alanis fan who owns every one of her cds. but i guess this is the last i'll own. but then again, just because i don't like it & have to bitch about it doen't mean it isn't *good*. Alanis is a *good* songwriter/lyricist, & she plays her little musical game very well again. i know a lot of people out there like it because the *good* music & all, but i think it's a *good* album with absolutely NOTHING to say. you don't make good music by scoring radio coverage, you make it by throwing your magics away so that people will like you & put you cds on. & that's IMHO exactly Alanis' case. look what i say here represents myself. if you disagree, reason with me rationally or, if you don't have the intellegence, ignore my whining & go get ripped-off, i know alotta people do. i'm not gonna start crying for that because it's none of my fucing business anymore. on the other hand, what i think it's also none of your fucking business. if you just want so fight i'm not interested so... SHUT THE FUCK UP FUCKHEAD!!!
