One of my favorites actors is Kenneth Branagh, and English actor and director; and one of the greatest Shakespearean actors of all time. If you don’t know him, I suggest you to rent “Henry V”, “Much Ado About Nothing”, “Frankenstein” and “Hamlet”. He acts in this movies and he is also the director. Some other great movies are “The Theory of Flight” and “Conspiracy” (TV). A little trivia… he was married with Emma Thompson (But divorced in 1995) and romantically linked with Helena Bonham Carter. Pretty please, don’t judge him as an actor in movies such as “Wild Wild West” and “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”.

i would've voted for anyone of them except Ben Affleck... and i votef for Gene Heckman simply because i saw French Connection II a couple of hours ago...
anyway my No.1 favorite would be some Swedish actor named Stellan Skarsgard, whose name hardly anybody knows and whose works are mostly only shown in arthouse theaters... except a few better-known ones such as Dogville, King Arthur and Exorcist... no one else could have more wonderfully layered performances... such underrated talent......

John Malkovich for me... His psycho in Eastwood's "In The Line Of Fire" is definitive...
And the guy is so sexy....

Hopkins was great in Silence of the Lambs and what not. Personally, I'd have to vote for an Australian actor whose name escapes me at the present moment...Wait! *flash of brilliance in the grey matter* Michael Caton. He's fantastic. I urge you all to seek out and watch an Australian movie called "The Castle". However, I believe it may go over your head unless you are extremely familiar with Australian society and "culture". Nevertheless, Caton is a fantastic actor.
