Duke
Dear Pedro,
The Expo 98 show in Portugal was amazing for us. In fact it was one of the highlights of our tour last year! I have no idea why it wasn't mentioned in the tour diaries. Are you absolutely certain that it wasn't?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Cheers
Shirley
Dear Pedro-
the Expo show was certainly very memorable for us- the crowd was awesome. Sorry it didn't get mentioned in the report that you read- we can't talk about every show, so they just get chosen at random. See you there again soon I hope,
Steve

Dear Garbage,
I have seen the "Special" video and I find it very funny. Who had designed the airplanes and thought the video? Thank you an bye bye!
Davide
Dear Davide,
We had an entire art department working on the designs of the planes. The video was directed by a young English director called Dawn Shadforth and she overlooked the entire project from start to finish. Delighted you liked it.We are rather proud of it ourselves!!!!!!
Cheers
Shirley
Davide,
it was mostly the director, Dawn Shadforth, who thought of the idea. She works with some great set people, some of whom worked on the new Star Wars movie, and they built the planes. It was a lot of fun to make! Glad you like it,
Steve

ali
Dear Ali,
I would ask "Would you like to join me in a skinny cafe latte from Starbucks?" And we would answer in unison........"Yes please"
Cheers
Shirley
Why did you choose the name Garbage (this is our most-asked interview question)? Answer- we have absolutely no idea!

Hi Shirley, Butch, Duke and Steve
My name's Julien and i live in Paris. I was at Your concert this evening and i have to tell you that it was a wonder. It was even better than your first show last year. (i was there too) Question for Shirley: How is your butt going? It would be a shame for us if you have been hurt during your concert in Paris... :-)
To the four of you: You are the best !
Love to shirley, Shake hands to the guys.
Julien
Dear Julien,
Thankyou for the cute E-mail about the tumble I took on stage in Paris last week. In answer to your question..........my butt is just fine..............but even if I had hurt myself that night I wouldn't have felt a thing because I was in heaven. We had such an amazing night and the crowd, as ever, was so loving that it was hard to feel anything but pure pleasure!!!!!
Cheers

Duke
More importantly, how the hell did the person who took them off and threw them there get home?
Steve

Hi there Band,
Yesterday I went to see your concert in Ahoy' in Rotterdam, A dazzling show, great performance and good sound quality. What about your support act Ceasar, didn't you think they were pretty good? I did, although they played for such a short (too short) time.
Your performance was spectacular anyway, thank you for making my day (and week, month etc.).
Greetings,
Alwin
Alwin,
Ceaser was cool- great vocals and songs. We hung out a bit with them after the show and they were cool. Thanks to the Dutch audience- you guys were great.
Cheers,
Steve

Hi Shirley!
I remember seeing a quote from you somewhere about what you were looking forward to in 1999 (probably in one of my wife's 'young women of the '90s magazines'). These were: getting laid, writing 1999 on cheques and playing at Wembley. So how was it for you? (playing at Wembley that is). Was it what you hoped it would be?
I know sometimes when you look forward to something for a long time it often disappoints. I was worried that this would happen to me before I went to the concert, but I am glad to say I was not disappointed. For want of a better phrase: It was awesome. My wife and I both loved it.
Martin
PS Great light-show!!
Dear Martin,
Thank you so much for the sweet words about Wembley! And just to alleviate your fears.........I enjoyed it even more than I thought I would. We had a phenomenal show that night and the reception we received from the audience was absolutely overwhelming. We feel extremely lucky to have such great fan support.
Big kisses to you all.
I owe you one!!!!!!
Cheers
