I only just realised they were the coolest band ever last May, and they have played 4-5 concerts here in NZ but the last one was in Jan 02 at The Big Day Out, man I'd kill for a G concert. And now there is only one in a billion chance I'll ever get to meet her or the boys

And now there is only one in a billion chance I'll ever get to meet her or the boys Out of curiosity, how were you introduced to the band? Well, last year I was on an Incubus forum, and there was a Best Driving songs thread, and a couple of people mentioned Push It - Garbage and I thought I'd give it a listen (aside from this, I remember my sister playing As Heaven Is Wide a lot from when I was 5, then it was on my favourite PS Game when I was 8) and I was sure I'd heard the 'Don't worry baby' line and then I was completely blown away by the guitar riff. Great Song. I wondered if there were anymore like this. I downloaded Vow, which was completely different, but in an even more shocking way, I was hooked on the first song, then the second, then third and so on. I don't think I will ever come across another band in my entire sad little life that will even compare with Garbage. So I can say from personal experience in total confidence that I think that Garbage is the best band in the world without any exceptions or doubts.

Yes, I've met her. She is extremely nice, gracious, charismatic and easy to talk to. She makes one feel right at home. Actually, all of the band members are like that. My impressions of her is that 1) she's a lot taller than I envisioned. She's 5'7" tall! 2) she looks very skinny in real life, and has quite a backside! 3) she seems to lose her Scottish accent much more when talking to an American (me)! 4) she will bend over backwards to accomodate as many fans as possible with signings, photographs, questions, etc. She is quite the lady!

April 4, 1999, at the House of Blues: It was Easter Sunday. I remember that because they came out, there was some weirdo in a bunny suit in the audience, and she screamed, "You are all my Easter Bunnies!" After the concert, the exit doors led you to the area surrounding their tour bus. I decided to wait, so about 20-30 people crowded around. An hour later, the casino security guards told us that the band was going to stick around and gamble, so we were wasting our time. Some people left... but I waited. Two and a half hours later, after the security guards had left, it was near 2 am and freezing... I was in a t-shirt and a Version 2.0 tour shirt I had bought at the concert. I was about to give up.... and then she walked out of the darkness. Literally, out of nowhere. I said her name, and the 10 of us that were still there all went crazy. I tried to restrain myself as much as possible.
But yeah, she is tall. And she was laughing and being gracious... I told her that I had sent them an email, and she asked what I said. When I told her, she laughed and smiled and told me that I was sweet. She signed my ticket stub, and I had her sign my t-shirt. There was a family there from Madison, and they had a disposable camera. I asked them to take my picture with her and if they would mail it to me, I'd give them my globe 2.0 sticker. They did, and she hugged me! A few minutes later, Duke came out. He was just as nice. I thought I was a fan before that... but meeting them made it all so much more personal. Just incredibly nice, gracious people...
And I almost met Butch and Steve after the LA show last year in April... I ended up leaving 10 minutes before they came out....

April 4, 1999, at the House of Blues: Oooohhh, cherrybomb, you went to a show that I would DIE to have a copy of. Do you have an audio recording of that show, or know anyone who has it? That show is my # 1 pick for desirable Garbage boots. I've never seen that show in circulation, ever! I don't even know if it was recorded. That show has a song, so incredibly rare, that it was only played live ONCE in the U.S. in the entire history of the band. Do you happen to have any pictures of the show? PM me if you don't want to discuss this in public!

I *wish* I had a recording. The only pic I have is of my and Shirley. (the House of Blues logo is shown in the background) I believe the song you're referring to is Trip My Wire... which was actually played for one of my friends who brought a sign specifically requesting it. I don't know anyone who recorded it, though. Sorry!

Last April, outside the small Philly venue.
Waited in the side alley for 20 minutes, until they piled into their shuttle van to leave. They had a show in Boston the next night, so they didn't have time to stop and spend an hour in the alley.
Fortunately, some bozo double parked his car at the end of the alley to run into some other local establishment, and after a few minutes of the van sitting in the alley, the band inside, mouthing "i'm sorry" to all the fans pleading for them to come out, they decide to come out. I got to speak with Butch for a couple minutes--which has been a dream since I first started noticing his name as the producer of my favourite bands back in 92. I got some stuff signed by the entirety of the band, spoke briefly with the other three. Pretty great.
------
After the Soundstage concert, I got to speak with Shirley for a little bit. Explaining that my friend and I had driven 15 hours from the MA coast to Chicago to see them, she called us "crazy motherfuckers." When I asked if these crazy motherfuckers could get a photo with her, she said she'd "be honored." Pretty sweet.

I was looking at the setlist on garbagebase.com and I don't see any unusual songs on there, unless you count "technical difficulties." i've got about a dozen US bootlegs where they've played trip my wire

Trip My Wire is fairly common, and I've heard it live. I was referring to Sleep Together. AFAIK, it was only played once in the U.S. Oh well, cherrybomb, thanks anyways! If you do hear about it, contact me right away. I can make it VERY worth your while!

April 4, 1999, at the House of Blues: It was Easter Sunday. I remember that because they came out, there was some weirdo in a bunny suit in the audience Hehehe this is fairly normal at the concerts I frequent. I always think Shirley is shorter than I expect after seeing her onstage, if she's 5'7" I've been measuring myself wrong for some amount of time, plus she's usually wearing tall shoes.

Well that measurement is direct from Shirley's mouth herself. I was right next to her and had my arm around her, so judging her against my own height, I definitely concur that 5' 7" is correct.
