^ Considering they usually have strong videos & Shirley has such a memorizing, vivid visual image, I'd agree. I'm not one who cares about where the band charts & if their videos get played on MTV, etc, though. They still make waaaaay more money than I do, haha . I don't listen to/watch much TV or radio either.

I remember when Push It came out and MTV was still playing videos and they hardly *ever* played it. That was a shame.

MTV Europe and Asia had Push It on heavy rotation. Even up to TMWIH MTV Europe and Asia played their videos frequently. Not sure what they're like now as i dont receive either MTV anymore.

True, they were always better received in Europe and Asia, but in the US their videos weren't played very often from 2.0 forward.

I remember seeing them on MTV quite a bit! And The Box all the time, in 1998/1999.

In the US? I guess it was just me having bad luck everytime I tuned in lol
I remember VH1 played Special a lot. But I don't remember MTV being a big supporter of the band after the debut came and went.

Was US MTV still even playing music videos by the time of Version 2.0? Well probably about 90x more so than they are now. But still not that much. I do remember there being random video blocks during the day though and at night. I used to set my VCR to record them all around the time Push It and ITIP videos came out, with no luck. I managed to catch Push It one night waaay late at night at friends house during a sleepover.

Yeah, that's how I discovered them by watching ITIP on MTV.

GREAT article, but it's too bad MTV isn't relevant any more.
