In case anyone is interested....I just called the Palms box office. They allow "small cameras that fit in your back pocket". I also asked about bags...small bags are ok...I specifically asked about a small shoulder bag. She said nothing luggage sized. So it seems like their policies are in line with most other venues. I didn't ask about a backpack, but most places don't like them in my experience.

Huh. I didn't see that on their site and I looked for it...Now you have me all paranoid. Can you try calling, too? I got someone right before I posted.

Like i said in another thread, every ticket and venue website has that blurb written on it somewhere, so don't worry about it, it's just a general blurb that doesn't really mean anything. It's ultimately the bands decision whether they want cameras in the venue or not and Garbage don't seem to mind at all so you'll be fine.

(702) 944-3200 I'll see if I can stop by tomorrow during my lunch break, I work about three blocks up Flamingo Road; I want to talk to someone in-person, as well as ask when they'll allow us to begin lining up. Each casino is wildly different when it comes to that stuff.

Generally you'd be in trouble if you took professional quality equipment with you, but unless the band are specifically filming or recording at that venue you shouldn't have any bother.

I can't believe they'd take issue with point and shoots anywhere these days, since most phones can do as good a job as a lot of point and shoot cameras, but I'm a worrier To quote Sarah Connor....Genetics are a bitch. I'm more concerned with getting my recorder gadget in. Anyone know if they pat you down at The Palms? I've only had that happen at a few shows and I go to a ton of concerts.

Ok, I went down there at lunchtime; had to wait a bit as the box office was closed, but talked to a ticket sales agent; he said he didn't think there would be any problem with small point-and-shoots. When I asked what time we would be able to line up, he said they discourage lines before 4 pm. :/
