Anyone know if we're going to get a higher quality version of this? 4:3 and 480p is SO 2001. Combined with the intentionally grainy effect of the video in some places, this isn't quite as easy on the eyes as I'd like it to be. Other than that, it's pretty fucking great.

I've a feeling it's been filmed in 4:3.

I think it was filmed in 4:3. Probably to make it look like a Luis Buñue movie. HD would break the illusion.

I think it was filmed in 4:3. Probably to make it look like a Luis Buñue movie. HD would break the illusion. But if it was shot on film HD would enhance it because you'd see the fine detail on the film, the damage etc. Of course it most likely wasn't shot on film at all, it was probably shot on digital video then run through a filter.

Except that fine detail wasn't in the original movies that inspired it, so.... The video looks like a 1920's sci-fi movie for a reason. For example The decision to use a clearly paper mache moon. I could have done a better job of producing this video with 4 hours, Blender 3D , and Adobe premier elements. But that's not the point. It's an homage. It should look like the original.

Of course fine detail would be there, every film stock has detail. I'm not talking detail on the subject, i'm talking detail on the film stock itself, the films grain.

I'm so fed up with so much negativity at the moment - its a new era for the band - think the video is great and love that is different and that it pays homage to early cinema - not these comments but reaction to the video from some people on the FB page

Mm no i think is more something more older that remenber silent movies, the moon seams come from Le Voyage Dans La Lune (see my post on Youtube thread)also the hand drawns were used at the time (see Paris Qui Dort on my post),the white house where the guys come out looks like Laura Palmer House exeterior used on Twin Peaks Fire Walks With Me but the enter is different ,the house up this hill next to the street looks like the same so maybe the shoot the scene there using a house on that area, i know for the movie is been used a house on L.A. area The pic dosent show complitely the house however if someone remenber the movie will notice those ditail Shirley hair looks like Rita Hayworth on Gilda (so 40s), the cars that appar for few moments looks more modern (i think 70's but i'm not a expert on american cars so i can wrong)flowers blossom/insect remenber Christina Aguilera Fighter video. I really liked the video but i don't think match with the song FallenAngel

^^ Me too, whining bitches left and right. This video is SO up my alley, totally my thing. I love it!! Love the stark contrast of mood and audio/visual relation, and most importantly homage to early 20th century cinema

Thanks guys! I re watched it today after the explosion last night as it were - it has a lot going for it - the band all look great (love the shot of Duke with no specs on he looks really handsome actually).
I love the mood of it - feels like a silent film - all dream like and full of wonder

It may not be my favorite song or video but I do like the video. Everyone looks great and I think there are some really memorable moments in the video. I also love that it pays homage to older films.

The song, and the video are growers. The more you watch and/or listen. The better they get

I like how the song is somewhat upbeat and the video is pretty grim and dark. It makes such good contrast, I love the video.
