So I'm watching Shameless (which is a great show, btw...if you haven't seen it, order Showtime and start watching!) and there's a scene where this little girl walks around while her brothers are doing sit ups and other training and she's singing a few lines from #1 Crush.

What was the name/number of the episode, and was it the US version or the UK version?

It's the US version. The name of the episode is "I'll Light a Candle For You Every Day." It's the second season...episode #15.

I saw that :~)
In fact, Cherry Lips was a huge hit in Italy off the back of an ad for Breil Stones which ran in winter 2001. Breil had also used Paranoid in an ad in 1998 and it was a huge hit for the band there.

Paul I don't think there was ever a huge Garbage hit in Italy, if there ever was that would only be Cherry Lips, and probably Androgyny, the rest were small hits that can still be heard on some rock radio or tv channels. Strange, but they show the blm video quite often!

Andrea you are forgetting The World Is Not Enough! That was a big hit in Italy. Top ten, stayed on your charts for months.
BeautifulGarbage also went Gold in Italy.

I was rewatching Malcolm In The Middle recently and heard Tornado in the background during an ice hockey scene, though took awhile for me to realise what it was

Tornado was on a Robert Pattison movie released last year. I would have checked it out but... Robert Pattison. No thanks.

Till The Day I Die is in a Colin Firth movie...there's no way I'm watching a movie with him in it.

Which one? I LOVE Colin Firth! I remember hearing it on Malcolm and the Middle as well. I went to a trivia night the other night and they played When I Grow Up and I freaked out haha. You had to guess what song it was by String Quartet, needless to say I got that one.

there was an episode of "newsradio" back in the 90's that had a weird garbage referrence. ben stiller was guest starring as a smarmy gym manage trying to sell memberships to andy dick and phil hartmann. during the credits at the end they showed outtakes where the three of them were ad-libbing. stiller asked what kind of music they liked and andy shouts "oh, garbage!".
