I'm guessing, they're not so young people, so do you think this could be the last album of garbage? What do you think you could have before the "end"? I would really love to have a Live DVD, a DVD with all the complete videos (last one I didn't like it, I don't know what the hell the company wanted to do), and a Bsides recompilation. I could die in peace with this, impossible? I don't think so...

NO. IT'S NOT. garbage will never make their last album. don't ever say that.
XD a live DVD would be amazing. And yeah I wish they'd included all the videos on Absolute Garbage - Androgyny, Sex is Not the Enemy and Run Baby Run weren't on. D:

I don't know but considering how long it takes them to produce their albums I wouldn't hold your breath on many more, I suppose it all depends on what happens with this one and if the band are truly up to it - I'd really like to see the first two if not 3 albums remastered like the Suede and Placebo reissues which have been ace - with demos, bsides and live tracks with a poss DVD but Garbage have suffered with their labels in the past so I really don't think we will get such things

It really depends how the next album and tour goes. I think at this point lets just be thankful we're gettting a fifth album!

[...]I suppose it all depends on what happens with this one and if the band are truly up to it[...] yep, it all depends if they'll still have the "passion"... not so much about the selling or other stuff... however... the album is yet to come and we are thinking about the end?!?

It probably will be the last album and tour. The band isn't getting any younger. Maybe they will release some online stuff like Weird Al does, but that doesn't seem like it's the band style.
Overall, I'm OK with this being the last Garbage era. They gave us one hell of a discography.

Yea I can't deny that this hiatus at some points felt more like an open ended goodbye. I just think it's awesome they're giving it another shot : ) Age has nothing to do with being a happy, successful musician though - there's no expiry date on talent! I think it's that attitude towards artists that opresses their creativity to be fair.

Every album could *always* be the last album. By any band. Treat every release as such and you will appreciate it fully and have no regrets later.

I find this thread a little morbid to read, especially since they are in the works of the new record. All I'll say is that though it may be their last proper tour, I doubt it'll be their last album. It certainly appears that they have found a new spark of working creatively together and may want to make more music/albums together in the future.
I think there is a sense amongst fans that Garbage are always on the verge of ending due to BLM era, tour cancellation and (possibly) the release of 'Absolute Garbage'. Though it was stated by band members that it was only a "hiatus" and Butch referred to how they had ideas for the next record.
I agree with Marco that re-issues would absolutely amazing to have and could tackle the ongoing issue of that B-Sides collection. However, at the moment I'm more interested in what the band are going to produce with this album, rather than if this will be their last. Don't count a bitch out yet! lol

If it is the last, they should all go into acting after.

I'm kinda worried because Shirl said she didn't want to perform when she hit 50 in an interview. That's not very long...

I think maybe she genuinely didn't think she'd still be relevant. She probably - modestly - thought they had maybe another album left in them when she gave that interview, and then someone new would come along and they'd be forgotten. as if. I mean you never know, I think it depends. I mean look at Debbie Harry, she's 66 and going on tour with Blondie this year...

And she's gonna be 45 this year. Grand sweeping statements should be ignored - for every rock star. They never stick to them!!!!

I just want them to have fun making music together. It seems that this album came together because they all wanted to make it. I'm thrilled that we get another album! Don't worry about it

Agreed! If it happens, it happens. They've left us a stellar musical collection, either way

It may or may not be their final album, and I'm intrigued to discover what theyre creating for fans.
But perhaps they need to include something into the G equation. An idea I've been exploring for a few months now.

I mean, it took so long for this album to even start being recorded.... they've had an amazing career, but I don't see their career stopping after this album, perhaps they'll do a few online releases, and a few other kinds of collaborations, like Shirley did with The Hunger... I mean, they gave us amazing four records and when I became a fan i had thought that they were done and over with.
