Anyone know a good one? I tried a search and thought I found a good one, but in the small print it says it puts up pop-ups to pay for it. Arrrrggggghhhhh

Windows Media Player works for DVD's and most videos(as long as you have the codec). You could always try either VLC or Media Player Classic. Both are free and have more options than Windows Media Player.

I have used the VLC media player and its pretty good no issues with it. Windows media tends to be a pain when it comes to the correct codecs but other wise its pretty good. Dan I would suggest the VLC media player.

OK, I DL'd WMP 9, Media Player Classic, and VLC. MPC didn't make it past the "electronic signature" verification. VLC did make it past that, but included "Hotbar", and 5 other spyware programs. Maybe it was the DL site, and the open source capability of VLC. So what I got was an altered version of it. The extras were removed, now I will try it out.

yeah, vlc is the best player out there for pretty much anything, and you should only download it from the original site www.videolan.org (still completely free). plus, once you figure a lot of it out, it has A LOT of capabilities that you wouldn't even think of just by the look of it.

Now you tell me. I got it from freesoftware.umptiscrath as I remember. I still haven't tried it yet. I just got off a 14 hour work day. 4 AM to 6 PM sucks, but I need the bucks

VLC is pretty awsome for just about all of your audio and video player needs on any platform.
