This is what 40 boxes of unsold Spice Girls singles look like. As popjustice.com noted: In case you can't quite make it out, that's forty (40) boxes of the unsold Spice Girls comeback single 'Headlines', going for 30p a pop in the Leeds branch of Head (formely Zavvi). We're sure this says something deeply significant about something or other but we're not sure quite what - it's probably something about highstreet retail, or the death of the CD single, or the non-event of the Spice Girls comeback. We'll leave you to fill in the blanks.I had a good hearty laugh at this and to be honest I'm not sure which reason it is. The Spice Girls reunion was utterly laughable as shambolic as it was; and the CD single was devalued as a format long before they could conveniently blame P2P and legit online stores. Those CD singles were probably ordered by Woolworths distribution arm Entertainment UK (who supplied Zavvii stores) who had a habit of only stocking one or two single in any reasonable quantity and the rest of the top 40 would be tagged as sold out, thus exposing the business strategy that no doubt lead to their downfall last Christmas.

They are being sold for 30p.
That's at least 28p too expensive. Even Melanie C thought the comeback single was honkin.

I'd like to buy one just for the case. I have tons of extra regular CD jewel cases but none of those single jewel cases.

They should have used "Voodoo" as their comeback single, even that wouldn't compete radio-wise.

As much as I used to love them it wasnt fab. haha. i really liked them for about a year or two.. i was like, 7 or 8 years old when they were big. kinda just ditched it all when Geri left (see? it's all about the redhead!) one of my friends the other day was making fun of me, he told another friend of ours i still wear spice girls shirts, LOL. he always says women can't sing though so if he saw me in a Garbage shirt he'd probably make fun of that too whatever.. Shirley is very photogenic on those shirts

Don't get me wrong, in their hayday I adored them. Seeing them as a five piece in Wembley was my first ever concert. But I expected so much more from their comeback

The problem was that they were rushed to do this, on the count that Mel C wasn't sure what she was doing, Victoria during her fashion line campaign, and Mel B on Dancing With The Stars. They didn't have a proper time to do this. If only they waited another year.

the spice girls were on "saturday night live" back in the 90's. it was them their band and back-up singers. dennis miller came on for his "weekend update" segment right after. he started out by saying, "i don't have anything against the spice girls, BUT, if there are five of you, and you all sing and none of you play instruments and you STILL need back-up singers, something's wrong."

LOL! Melanie C is the only one with a semblance of talent, and I'm not just saying that because she's a huuge Garbage fan. Spice Girls were just a product of their time and their legacy to the world isn't their music, it's the earning potential of endorsements and what happens when the media believes your contrived bullshit backstory for 18 months.

Here is from 1rst to last who I like vocally:
1. Victoria 2. Geri 3. Emma 4. Mel C. 5. Mel B.
Don't get me wrong, they all have talent, but Victoria and Geri's voice (probably hated by most) to me are unique. I absolutely LOVE Victoria's solo work, including the song she did with Nas. It's awesome. It's called Full Stop. Youtube it.
