Ok, so right now it looks that the chart position is at #4 right now, and might be a little higher in sales, which might round to 75K - 80K.
Now, that is good and all, but remember, we still have 8 months and more to keep this album on the charts. As you have seen with the song "Why Do You Love Me", the hype and the radio plays it got was because of us fans, and not soley because of the label. What we need to as fans is keep requesting "Why Do You Love Me", as well as the new video "Bleed Like Me" on radio and TV stations.
I think some will say "oh yeah we know that!", but thankfully when the new garbage website comes up, not only will we have much MORE fans helping, but we could all get together and push this album as far as this can go. Some (as well as I) do not care what position this album goes to, because I love the CD and nothing else can change that. We as fans want to see this album make a stamp in 2005 and beyond, we would all like to see MTV awards being handed to them, and billboard and grammy nods, we ALL want to see that.
In order for them to be able to attend these shows is if us as fans do our part in going to concerts, go to stores and posting posters for the new album, calling radio stations requesting them (at mid-night is the BEST time to request, they are guarunteed to play the song), e-mailing and posting on TV station forums about the new video, and as Spin and some others are doing, make a banner and show them to clips to the new album.
We as fans must do our part in supporting them, they went through a considerable amount of time making this, hardships and other worse case scenarios happened, but they managed to conjure up a album that most if not all people who hear it love it or like it. Now they need our help to support them in any way possible.
Soon, on my site and hopeing others as well, will be making 8 X 10 Bleed Like Me posters for everyone to print and stick in schools, colleges, stores (make sure you tell the manager that), café's, and other department stores. That way, most people can get at least a listen to the album, and buy it if they like it enough.
Even to your friends who don't know Garbage or people you speak to online. I spoken to at least 4 people online and got them to buy the album, and to me that was a personal victory. So even if they don't know them, buy them the album so they could listen to it, and hopefully and essentially make them go out and get the other CD's.
So thats about it, I am at least hoping that this will show the members of Garbage that we as fans care for them and love their music, no matter what others say. And I am only suggesting what we as fans could do, I mean, we can only do so much, but whatever we can do to promote this album is always good.
Anyways, check back in a few days and I will have a poster for all to print and make available. I will also make several banners to support the band to put in your signatures on other forums you attend to.
Thank you for reading.
