So a guy I work with is trying to hook me up with his girlfriend's roommate. Why, I don't know. Anyway, I've been talking on/off with this girl on myspace but I've never met her. I've talked to her on the phone only 2 times. Anyway, she just called and asked if I wanted to go on a date this week. I lied and told her i had plans tomorrow, that I work Wed & Thurs and that I'm going out of town Friday-Sunday. She didn't get the hint so she suggested we go out next Monday. To be nice, I told her sure and so now we have plans to go out next week.
First, I don't generally like girls. The guy that's trying to fix us up doesn't know that because I'm not really friends with him and I try not to make a big deal out of it with people I don't know or fully trust. I should've never started talking to this girl, but I did it just to humor him and now I've got a date! Dammit!
So how can I get out of this now? Just not answer my phone when she inevitably calls? Cancel the plans for next week? I'd like to do a preemptive break up with this girl without having to actually talk to her while at the same time not ruining my working relationship with my co-worker.
lol I'm fucked up, I know.

Don't ignore her calls! Just say you have a lot going on and you're just not really looking to date right now. I think people appreciate it more when they're told "sorry not interested" than when they're ignored. at least i do.

Yeah, I would definitely not ignore her calls. When she calls you can be honest and tell her that you're really not that interested afterall (I know that's hard to do, but it will keep her from suggesting yet another date to get together). You could lie and say that you are seeing someone else. Or you could keep saying that you are busy and she'll eventually get the hint, hah. Above all else, I wouldn't go though. You will be expected to pay and you won't have a good time if you're not into girls.

Why not just tell her that your not into ladies? And I agree with the others, don't ignore her calls. That's just rude.

Thanks everyone....well, it probably wasn't a big help to me that I didn't read these replies until a day after the date was supposed to have taken place. That's okay though. I did tell her I wasn't interested but that we could be friends. We'll see how that goes as I probably made her feel like crap. Oh well. Don't ignore her calls! Just say you have a lot going on and you're just not really looking to date right now. I think people appreciate it more when they're told "sorry not interested" than when they're ignored. at least i do. Sorry to gay up the thread but....David you're such a hottie! lol How've you been stud?
