I just got a 32" HDTV and a 5.1 surround sound system and DAMN! I'm watching Absolute Garbage right now and Vow looks amazing! Crystal clear. And it's not even high end stuff....
I just had to share.

Do you have a Blu-Ray player or any other DVD up-converter? If not, just wait till you see what it looks like with that!
Congrats!

This is maybe a little off topic......but does blu-ray really make that much difference? I've been thinking about getting a blu-ray player, but is it really worth it? Yes it is. Like I said, it will up-convert your normal DVDs to "close to Hi-def" and the difference on Blu-ray discs is amazing! Go to your local Best buy or any other place if you want to see for yourself. If money is a problem, as it is with many people at the moment, then just wait a little while. I would say that by next Christmas the price should come down on both the players and the Blu-ray movies as well. At the moment the cost of a new Blu-ray movie is very expensive but I have found many sales on Amazon and other sites for Buy 2 get one free. You just need to pay attention.

I was watching on a PS3, so yes, I have a Blu-Ray player I have a regular dvd player too so one of these days I'll have to compare just for giggles. The PS3 is connected via HDMI.

Yeah, if you have a TV that is full 1080p, and are watching a blu-ray disc, and have proper surround sound, the difference over standard definition is amazing. I also recommend Nine Inch Nails -Beside You In Time Blu-Ray for a nice benchmark/showcase disc.

I also recommend Nine Inch Nails -Beside You In Time Blu-Ray for a nice benchmark/showcase disc. Yeah, the colors and detail on that disc is amazing. Also for reference: The Dark Knight. The scenes filmed in IMAX are otherworldly in 1080p.

Push It looks good but there's something about the really vivid colors of Vow that made it look amazing.
