Wow! What a show. I was about 10 meters away from Shirley. Fantastic The setlist - not in order - Queer, Bad Boyfriend, Boys Wanna Fight, Only Happy When It rains, sex is not the enemy, why do you love me, hammering in my head, push it, i think i'm paranoid, Stupid Girl, Vow, #1 crush, RBIE, Metal Heart, Cherry Lips, Shut Your Mouth, Bleed Like Me, when I grow up. Shirley said she was told "Australia is almost like a second home for Garbage" in an interview and she agreed. She also put on an Aussie accent saying "mate" etc etc. I was recorrding the concert with a tape recorder and some security guy took it off me and my friends camera and made her delete 70 pictures Later on, We waited outside and Shirley and Steve pissed off but Butch and Duke came out and I got them to sign my Queen Helen and BG rose fold out disc. Butch was like "Is that the magazine from France? No way, that is so cool" I asked about the b-sides cd and he told me summer 2006 it when it may come out. I also asked about anymore singles and he said doesn't know and I said release BB and he said "yeah, i think that would make a wicked single". Also during the show, 2 old guys were sitting down at the front and Shirley is like why are u 2 the only guys sitting down?? Funny as!

I WAS THERE!!! OMG!! I still cant believe it, it was an AWESUM gig. I was about 20 seats back from the stage but had a really good view though. My legs were like jelly the whole time, being my first garbage concert, i was like 'jesus, i cant believe im actually seeing them after all this time. and shirley is soo close!!' I could smell her..... I recorded some on my phone, but stupid thing is being a bitch, so it all came out distorted and stuff. ______________________________________ PS) I was miffed that the t-shirts i wanted, didnt come in my size when i got there..early. I got the shirley shirt with her face of the front. Nice but still...oh well. OOHHH!!! And you met the boys!! lucky you!! So cool man! So cute how she says butch, hehehehe. I was so pissed off that they took the tape recorder and camera. We were like the guys that got it taken off! Yes, I had heaps of fun. A little dissapointed Shirley didn't come and sign stuff. I even had a little tube for a strand of hair...

Tape recorder I can see where they are coming from... Camera= fuck off you morons! Digital cameras take lame as pictures, so I hardly see the issue there.

FOR a band about to disappear into an indefinite hiatus, Garbage has never sounded more alive. On record their precise mix of electronics and rock is subtle. On stage studio subtlety is bludgeoned by rock power that blasts your ears into submission. Celebrating their 10-year anniversary the band played to a rabid audience at the Palais last night. Debut single Vow still sounds menacing and thoroughly modern. Indeed it's not until you hear Garbage's greatest hits all performed with added force you realise how impressive their catalogue is. Singles like Queer, Only Happy When It Rains, When I Grow Up and I Think I'm Paranoid all thrill their devoted fans. Meanwhile the subversive Cherry Lips and intense Push It are songs any band would kill to have in their repertoire. Title track of their latest album Bleed Like Me shows Garbage can slow things down without losing power or focus. Imposing and enticing all at once, singer Shirley Manson is an amazing front person. Her knowledge of their audience is such that she points out several hardcore fans in the front row. As her bandmates prowl the stage like caged animals, drummer Butch Vigs's kit is more like a pilot's console than your average rock instrument. While he triggers samples and loops from the kit, more importantly he bangs his drums like a man possessed. If anything good comes out of Garbage's time out Manson will be just the kind of solo star we need in a world where Ashlee Simpson passes as a rock chick. www.heraldsun.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5478,16734475%5e661,00.html

That was a great review and exactly what I would have written after the show that I saw. The reporter was a good Garbage fan Thanks for posting it Tragic Boy.
I think they're the best they've ever been and Shirley has just gotten better with age. (I had to throw the Shirley comment in for Sarah..ha!)
It sounds like you aussies have had nazi type security at all the shows. That sucks.

That was a great review and exactly what I would have written after the show that I saw. The reporter was a good Garbage fan Thanks for posting it Tragic Boy. It was the same guy who reported that they were breaking up. and in the Sydney show Shirley wasn't very happy with him He sounds like a huge garbage fan himself and knew he upset Shirley so he was trying to redem himself probably

I even had a little tube for a strand of hair... Did you at least get your tape recorder and camera later on after the concert, or did they keep them? A strand of hair, huh....are you going to replicate Shirley's DNA, clone her and make an army of Superbitch's? hehehe! ;D
