My appreciation for Obama has quickly become non-existant over the last several months. I thought he might actually do some good in the office but I thought wrong. Now that I'm not getting an annual raise in my disability check for the next two years because of him and his needless spending is enough to make me wanna vote for someone else in 2012. This new health care bill isn't making too happy either...with 400 billion dollars being cut from Medicare.
Ugh...I really can't stand politicians and the way they run our country is just friggin' ass crazy.

Thankless jobs...
I'd like to see Mike Rowe do a "Dirty Jobs" show on being the President of the United States.

Sat, Dec 12, 2009:
Right now I'm searching the web for this weekend's Non Sequitur cartoon featuring Obvious Man to post here. Obvious Man overhears one guy at a bar say to another "...and I say, most of them in congress are corrupt!" and then Obvious Man swings into action.
When I find this cartoon on the web, I'll post it here. In the meantime, I found this on YouTube. It's a great intro to Obvious Man for those who are not familiar with the Non Sequitur cartoon.

What I'm learning from the Obama Presidency:
If Jesus Christ himself were to return to the Earth and become President of the United States, he would not be able to do any better than Obama is doing right now.
The problem is not what's happening in the oval office, or in the chambers of congress. The problem is what's happening with "we the people" in this country, and we're philosophically split right down the middle in our vision of what we want our country (our culture) to become.
If Jesus himself returned to the Earth and went Washington to do his performance of "Mr. Smith goes to Washington", our philosophical split down the middle in our vision of what we want our country to become would still be there... and Jesus wouldn't be able to do any better than Obama is doing right now.
And this is not nessessarily a bad thing to be happening in our country. In our country, we have a very healthy, very robust "ying vs yang" philosophical battle going on that would bring tears of joy to the eyes of Socrates.
We Americans are the most fortunate of all the citizens on this Earth. Our culture here in the United States values freedom of thought and freedom of expression like no other culture on this Earth (yah... tears of joy would flow from the eyes of Socrates if he could see what's happening in our culture here in the United States today).
In times of 'perceived' hardships in our lives, we Americans must keep reminding ourselves that we are the most fortunate of citizens on this Earth to be living here in the United States.

I have discovered that I really never had to comment on Obama and the rest of them.
They pretty much speak for themselves...............
That ship seems to be sinking all by itself.

I voted for the first time at in the last election and voted for Obama.
I hate how he's lied about numerous promises like all politicians!
Ending the war? PSH 30,000 more troops sent right to Afganistan! He's also against gay marriage, which makes me dislike him.
Hearing about Obama expanding wiretapping is scary. It's very 1984. Ugh I'm so sick of dealing with party politics already, and I just started voting!

Its amazing how much the media lets him get away with. Just imagine if it was George doing this. I'm confused. You post an article which stated that the drone attacks began under Bush and that Obama escalated them. Then you state "Just imagine if it was George doing this." Bush DID that. He began the drone attacks on al Qaeda camps in northern Pakistan, with the (secret) consent of the Pakistan military and civilian leadership. I think this is emblematic of the double standard some people have for the Obama administration. They criticize Obama for handling terror suspects in the same exact manner that the Bush administration did. Of the 300+ individuals prosecuted in civilian court for terrorism under the Bush administration, every single one was mirandised. Every single one was convicted. Yet the Republicans in Congress and even Cheney himself leapt onto the "Attack Obama!" bandwagon and criticized him for the decision to follow the protocol the Bush administration put in place. It's a complete double standard. Of the three individuals Bush decided to prosecute under military commissions, two are out walking the street today. Furthermore, two suspects released from Gitmo by the Bush administration were thought to be somewhat involved with the Yemen underwear bomber. Finally, I'll never understand why people ask Dick Cheney for his assessment of anyone's national security performance. The man's administration failed to prevent numerous domestic and international attacks on U.S. interests, even after using torture and other repulsive tactics that have been proven to be ineffective. It would be like asking Elmer Fudd for advice on how to catch and kill rabbits.

Obama does it and there is hardly mention of it.

"This" Meaning............If it was Bush that escalated the drone attacks, it would have been all over the news. Obama does it and there is hardly mention of it. No, I don't need it spelled out. Your logic doesn't follow, spelled out or not. "Escalating" drone attacks doesn't justify nor condemn them. Are you saying the drone attacks are wrong? If so, both men are guilty of doing something wrong. If you are saying the drone attacks are necessary, then you should be THANKING Obama, not whining about a media double standard that doesn't exist. www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/12/03/white-house-approves-plan-pakistan-drone-expansion/www.foxnews.com/world/2010/05/09/missiles-kill-northwestern-pakistan-intelligence-officials-say/Let's take a look at the Times Square would-be bomber who received training in Pakistan and who it is believed received financial and strategic help from al Qaeda in Pakistan in trying to pull this off. Obama said during the campaign that the true war on terror was going on in Afghanistan and rural Pakistan. He's following up on his campaign promises to pursue al Qaeda in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Given the recent attempted bombing of Times Square, it's obviously the right call.

so newt gingrich, while giving a speech in florida, said that by the end of his second term(which would be 2021), the U.S. would have a permanent base on the moon. he didn't mention where the country would get the 500 trillion dollars we'd need to get started on constuction, however.

Maybe they can raise our taxes since we're not paying our fair share. Or maybe we can borrow it from China.
