My mom asked me if I wanted to go with her to see " The Passion of the Christ " , but I don't feel like it. It's supposed to be really gruesome and violent and people walking out of the movie crying and stuff. Kinda strange

Some jewish groups are calling it anti-semetic. Crucifying Christ was anti-Christian for God's sake. I don't think it will change peoples beleifs, let alone make them Jew haters. It was a violent time in history. even if you don't beleive in religions. It was during the Roman conquest, and war was everywhere. People were killed for no reason at all.
mel gibson is a devout christian, and if you're read those parts of the Bible, jews have the major role in Christ's execution. not being anti-semitic, that's just how it is. people need to try checking their sources before they start bitchin.
I will go to the animal shelter and get you a kitty cat. I will make you fall in love with that kitty cat. And then on some dark, cold night, I will steal away into your home...and punch you in the face.

Mentally scarred! We went to Catholic school and they showed us Franco Zeffereli's Jesus of Nazareth, with Robert Powell. The crucifixion scene was really gruesome and unsuitable for five year olds...they'd never get away with showing it to kids now. Fascinating story though.
Ehh... I'm not in that religion sector... but I'll probably see it, to check what the hell is up with it... but hollywood gets the money... yet when else will I see it? wait for it to come out on tape, you know grandmom and grandad will probably rent it and make you watch it... no they won't. they prefer books instead of movies. And they know you have yet to have really read the bible. Ack! got me there!
So, I finally saw the movie yesterday and I like it. The choice of James Caviezel as Jesus was excellent. I didn’t recognize him at first (I wasn’t aware of who was playing the part), but I did recognize his sweet and kind face from other movies where I saw him. Regardless of all the amount of violence and blood, it was a good film and I guess all that serve the purpose to portray Jesus as a human being, weak, confused and scared. And yes, I did cry. Not like I was crying the whole movie, but there is this one particular scene that broke my heart and I couldn’t control myself. And yes, Mel Gibson is making tons of money with the film. Good for him, smart boy.
Dance Away: And, Elvis Costello's wife is Diana Krall. Oh god, do I love the music of Diana Krall! And, I know it's an aspiration of Shirley to do the kind of music that Krall is doing. Shirley's mother was a 'big band' music singer (sample "Glenn Miller" big band)

orthodoxparadox36: I think that album actually saved, well, a few of the most important things in my life. I am eternally grateful for the way you all chose to dedicate your collective creative genius; something which makes it that much more special, not to mention, genuine!
