So last night the band attended an after party at the Sydney Casino post show. Gave fans the opportunity to talk/get photos. Managed to get 2nd photo with Shirley which I'll post in coming days.
Anyway I was chatting with Butch for 5 min.
Told him everybody loves "dizzy in the studio" and he said they are working on it and it has a new title.
Also mentioned the band are flirting with the idea for next tour about doing a residency style show where each new night they play each studio album in full (and a bsides night).
Said that the band plan on going back into studio in June and anticipates a quick turnaround for new album.
Asked him why the band dislikes BUTG and he said he loves it but Shirley had a really hard time filming the video so that's kinda stuck with her hence the reason they don't play it.
Said he enjoys staying in hotels as they are bigger than where he used to live during college.
Also said the band don't care about radio play as their old record labels used to fork out a lot of $ for that kind of stuff but they are happy just having a fan base etc.
Think that's about it!

Oh god I am soooo jealous! Damn effing uni seminar. And damn effing me for thinking it wouldn't be worth flying up at 8pm to attend the venue.
I am especially shattered because I would love to let the band know about my little Garbage Australia fan page, not for my benefit, but so they know that we are out there and we support them. And it would have been friggin fantastic to get some of the fan cards I have designed signed so that I could raffle them off to gain support for my page, and in turn, the band. My absolute dream is to see someone ask Garbage to sign one of the fan cards, or to see a 'Garbage Australia t-shirt' on someone not connected to me.
In a way I am glad the band are going back into the studio soon as it gives me some time to somehow think of ways to get the ball rolling on my page. In the meantime, I will just continue to annoy the shit out of everyone I know by begging for likes.

i do love the idea of complete album shows. it won't be long until 2015. i wondered if they might consider doing shows where they play the debut cd from start to finish to celebrate the 20th anniversery.

Billy mentioned that to us in July - I know they were keen to do NYKOP and Version 2.0 in full - I would travel anywhere to see that!

o wow, NLY live *drools*
Maybe then we'd learn what the lyrics at the end are!
You know, for all BG has copped flack for being 'different' to the other records, IMO it contains Shirley's best lyrical work (NLY, Parade, COC).
Just from the interviews I am reading, it seems that the "rock" of BLM was something the record company asked for? Or am I just sleep deprived?

I dunno - I have adored BG since its release I know it gets a lot of stick but I think it's a very diverse and unique collection of songs and yes like you say I think it's got some of Shirley's best vocal work
It was my third fav G album as it were until NYKOP came out which has snuck in there
I love BG and I'm grateful it was released

Vixen, I have also read that Bleed Like Me was dictated largely by the studio, sounds like more so than the other records. IMO, it's no coincidence, then, that it is their worst album (IMHO). Don't get me wrong, there are some true gems on that record, but back to front it is my least favorite.
I've never understood why BG is disliked (relatively) much. Personally, for me it's tied with Version 2.0 and I'd probably put both just a hair above the first album (though it's close).....

Also interesting about BUTG. It is sort of an odd video, I don't really like it. I wonder if Shirley was directed to do things she didn't really want to do. Like all the gyrating on the car, it's not really her style....

I really want full versions of 'Time Will Destroy Everything' and whatever 'Dizzy in the Studio' blossoms into... so this is great news.
