This one was hard to choose as well But i'd choose Automatic...right when they leaked the first 9 secs last year I was blown away beyond belief  it would be followed by >Supervixen (this song has some of the best Garbage lyrics ever) Temptation Waits (is a rare great happy upbeat song in their catalogue and sounds so unique) > Bad Boyfriend (Took me some time to get into it but it sounds so badass now) > Shut Your Mouth (I Still love it and it was the first song that was playing when I met them in 2001 for the first time at an virgin megastore signing) |

Yeah! When I saw them perform ASH at El Ray I first thought they were covering a lost Bon Jovi song but then it clicked when Shirley started singing that it was a new song  |

I went for ASH, its got a bloody big hook to it that just pulls you in. After that it would have to be Supervixen for me

It's a really really hard choice, all these songs are part of my fav, except for shut your mouth.

SUPERVIXEN!
Though I must admit Temptation Waits is a very very very close second. I just adore both tacks and both are in my top 10 Garbage songs. But Supervixen everytime - it has some of my favourite Garbage lyrics and I love the stop-start rythymn - just amazing.
Special mention must go to Automatic Systematic Habit which sets the bar high for NYKOP best album opener since TW.
Love Shut Your Mouth (great live) but never that fond of Bad Boyfriend, though it is a good live track.

I chose Temptation Waits....it has a certain tension at the beginning, which builds up the WHOLE album, not just the song.
I think most of the albums start off great though (SYM may be the weakest, but certainly not bad). I love the rolling guitars of Bad Boyfriend, the grungy yet glamorous riff of Supervixen, the beat with a flippant attitude of Shut Your Mouth, and the synthetic drama of Automatic Systematic Habit....but Temptation Waits wins with that fantastic opening line: "I'll tell you something - I am a wolf, but I like to wear sheep's clothing". Again, we're set up for the rest of the album, with its feisty vixen meets vulnerable, brooding, smart girl lyrics.

I couldnt choose between BB , ASH and Supervixen ... very hard to choose... but ended up going for Supervixen because it has some of the best lyrics and is one of my favourite songs ever... I've played BB too death but I love the drums, Guitars and vocals ... its also one of my favourite songs.... but so is ASH... which I hope is the next single what a epic opening (I'm not sure which album I perfer Bleed Like Me or NYKOP) Shut your mouth is just so meh... I love it live and its one of the best on BG but its just so lame... It was my favourite song of theirs when I was 13... and BG was my favourite album but then as I got older I relised everything else they have done is 100 times better.... Like Temptation Waits but dont see what others see in it (or should I say hear lol) |

I don't see all the love for ASH, personally. It's ok I guess but it's pretty boppy and repetitive for Garbage...doesn't even come close to Temptation or Supervixen. I'd even argue it's one of the least interesting tracks on NYKOP.

Further to my earlier response I can't get enough of ASH - there are so many wonderful new songs on the record but it's the most catchy and addictive - love that synthy beat

Gotta pick Temptation Waits!
Not only is it my favourite song of the bunch, but IMO it does the best job of starting off the album- that ambient ringing noise in the beginning is really neat, followed by the beat kicking in which get's me pumped immediately. What's more, Temptation Waits embodies what the Version 2.0 record is all about better than any other track on the record- It's dancey, futuristic sounding, sexy, fast-paced and a bit dark and mysterious.
