in the upcoming issue of rolling stone the lead singer of against me talks about battling gender dysphoria and his plans to transform himself into a woman named laura jane grace. gabel, says he isn't attracted to men and that his marriage to his wife, heather, will continue.
didn't see this coming. sad that he's been fighting this his whole life. the last two against me records are two of my all - time favorites. never had a chance to see them live. can't help but wonder how his bandmates and peers will react to this.

Wow. "Didn't see that coming" is exactly how I'd sum that news up. As someone who is both A) a huge Against Me fan and B) someone with a lot of friends who have gone through similar situations, all I can say is I really hope people will be as supportive as possible. Hoping this isn't the end of Against Me, but if it is... Well, I'll be sad, but I assume this is something she has been struggling with for a long time, and its probably high time for a change. Wishing Laura well and commending Heather for standing by her. I know people who's spouses have done a lot less, unfortunately.
I do hope we'll hear more from Against Me, though.
