I am so psyched about this album. I cannot wait! Metric is one of my favorite bands. I got so excited when Shirley tweeted about meeting Emily, a few months ago. I love it when the musicians I love meet.  And I mean... I know it's not even a vague possibility, but can you imagine a Garbage/Metric collab? Just the thought is awesome... Can't wait to hear Synthetica... |

both bands are playing the osheaga festival in montreal in august. hopefully the same day. i'd be curious to check them out.

I got the "Fantasies'" album a couple of months ago and I was instantly hooked. Awesome band!

On November 11th of last year, Shirley tweeted, "Just met that hot slut emily haines of metro. I love me a little fiery rock vixen." She quickly followed that tweet with another, saying, "I’ve got fake nails on…major typeO metric metric METRIC god damn" Great! I'm glad she likes Emily. |

LOL I'm happy she likes her too! I remember that one fan once said on her fb wall "I would love you to make a duet with Emily Haines of Metric" and she answered back "Emily Haines?!" or something like that, she probably didn't know about her.
I'm pretty sure Garbage never heard of the Cardigans either.

The new album is good. Deals with some of the themes of NYKOP - 'what is real?', outsiderdom, mortality, feeling lost in the hyperreality of 2012, etc. Realizing that maybe you need to be in your 30s/40s to convincingly address these issues? I love the new album! I'm glad they used more synth sounds this time.

What a treat it was that their London gig las year was the day after Garbage's.
