After repeated listens, I really, really like it. Sure, it doesn't hit you instantly like WDYLM or Push It, but it's very catchy. It's too soon to judge whether or not it's first single worthy, but it certainly is enjoyable.

You always want a song that is a grower. Instant buzz can be a killer on an album.

Am I, like, the only one who L.O.V.E.D. it since I first listened to the small sampler, and loved it even more after I heard the full song? Didn't have to grow on me at all, just grabbed me, instantly

I'm assuming it's a "buzz single". Hopefully the first proper single is A LOT better.

Would they film a video for it if it was just a buzz single? Maybe they wern't getting alot of suport from radio stations... This has happened before, an example being a UK girlgroup called Sugababes, they released a video, promoted on tv and there was a big advertising campaign for their song, but radio stations refused to play it and support them, so they ended up giving it away for free on Amazon.co.uk. I hope this isn't the case for Garbage :/
That's the thing with being a brand new label, they're very limited as apposed to a huge label like Warner...

According to the mp3 details, it's advertised as 320kbps, but I'm not convinced. Still sounds excessively busy during the chorus.

The mastering of the song is a mess.
I'm not sure what they were thinking but that chorus is woeful. Shirley's vocals get drowned out by about 50 layers of guitars.

A lot of artists have released the single for free, at least for some time. No need to worry

A lot of artists have released the single for free, at least for some time. No need to worry e.g. School of Seven Bells released the fantastic "The Night" for free.

Not sure why people are worried. Hot Chelle Rae for example gave away their first single and look at where it got them now. It's all about buzzing it.

Seriously people. Lots of a band give away a free song. It's part of today's marketing strategy. It's not a big deal.

I think Garbage know their loyalty from the fans here. The rest who just pick up on the song will have to buy it. It's a market strategy. All this happening during the airing of Chelsea Lately too, it's all about putting the feelers out.
