The Donnas have a new album coming out in 2012. This is going to be their first album without Torry Castellano as the drummer. She had to retire due to shoulder problems. Going forward she will be replaced by replaced by Amy Cesari.

I watched Lana Del Rey's Born To Die. I add her album coming out in late January 2012 to the list!

Some really good new albums coming out of Chicago this year: I:Scintilla: www.iscintilla.comViolet Winter: www.glitchmode.com/violet-winter/I:Scintilla mentioned a new full length in their most recent newsletter but haven't announced a date. Violet Winter's sophomore album should be out soon. They just released a new single and video, which I linked to above. Both bands are of the electronic rock persuasion. Here's Violet Winter's new video:

An interesting EP being released soon is "Wildcat" by Survival Guide. Survival guide is a side project by Emily Whitehurst(Agent M formerly of Tsunami Bomb and The Action Design) and Jaycen Mckissick(Guitarist for Tsunami Bomb and The Action Design). Overall Survival Guide has more of a slower electronica sound than the previous bands. They also released an EP in mid 2011 called "Hot Lather Machine": www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOMtNqgQv98gCurrently you can preorder Wildcat for $5 here: sidewithus.storenvy.com/products/190717-survival-guide-wildcat-7-pre-order

Yeah Yeah Yeahs probably will release a new album (usually they release an album every 3 years). In meantime Karen O collaborated with Trent Reznor (NIN) for the song "Immigrant Song" (Led Zeppelin cover) -- part of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" soundtrack. Here's the video directed by David Fincher:
Goldfrapp will release a the compilation The Singles in February 2012 (later followed by a new album). Here's the single ("Yellow Halo") from this compilation:
Shiny Toy Guns will release their third album, entitled III. They already previewed one great song, "The Sun":
By the way, the previous female vocalist Carah Faye Charnow returned to band.

Chairlift - Something (January 2012)
The first single is Amanaemonesia. It's such a weird synthpop song (esp. the female singer's voice and the lyrics); I never heard something like that before:
The chorus is very catchy; worth a listen. And the video featured the sexy vocalist. ;D

Apart from the new Garbage album? I'm interesting to hear Oceania by the Smashing Pumpkins... the first 8 songs of Teargarden with just Billy and a few randoms recording suck, but the songs released recorded with the new full band are a big improvement, i'm curious to hear what a cohesive album by what's essentially SP 2.0 will sound like...

Zwan really isn't my thing either.
On a slightly off topic note, mention SP inspired me to finally put a pic in my sig, lol. D'arcy and Shirley are two of my favorite rock musicians ever.

So this super badass compilation, Electronic Saviors Vol. 2, comes out on May 8: electronicsaviors.com/Electronic_Saviors__Recurrence/Track_List.htmlIt features a lot of big names in the "darkwave" scene. I love it when lots and lots of musicians come together for a single cause. The first Electronic Saviors compilation was amazing. This is the project of Jim Semonik of PA based Reinforced. Jim is a cancer survivor and all proceeds go to Gilda's Club/Cancer Support Community (http://www.gildasclub.org/) and The Bone Marrow Foundation (http://www.bonemarrow.org/).

Im looking forward to Ladyhawke and Saint Etienne's new albums... however both are due for release on May 21st (which is my birthday) and I think I wont be able to give them my full attention because... well...you all know what's coming out a week before that.
