Alright, I tried searching either "Deftones" or "Diamond Eyes" on the board search engine and yielded nothing, so hopefully I'm not repeating anything... I absolutely, positively love "Diamond Eyes" by Deftones. It was released last May. If some of you are not aware, the band had a completely different album recorded until their bassist was in a debilitating car crash. They scrapped it all and re-recorded. The result is "Diamond Eyes". Have I mentioned how much I love this album?? It is so gorgeous. It has everything you want: sonic soundscapes, hard rock, thoughtful (and very much tributed) lyrics. Why am I hyping this album up? Well, I hope it's an angle Garbage strives for. I remember reading reviews about "Diamond Eyes" most critics thought it was a great departure but awesome comeback for Deftones. So, I can only hope that Garbage achieves the same happiness in reviews. I wish that luck on them. Thoughts? Favorite Deftones album?

I do enjoy the Deftones. Saw them last year on the Diamond Eyes tour at First Ave in Minneapolis (the same place where I saw Garbage in 2005) and it was an incredible show. I don't have a copy of Diamond Eyes yet, though.
My favorite album is probably Around the Fur because it has my favorite Deftones songs, but White Pony is probably a better album overall. I haven't had much of a chance to listen to the self-titled album, even though I own it.

You should definitely check out Diamond Eyes. It's a solid record. I LOVE White Pony. That's another great one. I have Around the Fur and it's a great album where I'm feeling badass but not in a shitty way. I'm not sure how to express that, haha. I don't have the self-titled, but I read that one wasn't totally received well. I DO have Saturday Night Wrist and that wasn't rated too well, either, but, in my opinion, one of their best songs, "Cherry Waves" is off that album.
