Sorry about that, Iranian revolutionaries....hope you have better timing next time. Americans care more about their dead celebrities than your freedom. Ugh.....I just hope we don't get another news cycle that is like when Anna Nicole Smith died.

While I agree that overall, Americans are too caught up in celebrity, it isn''t just Americans that were talking about this. He was the King of Pop worldwide. Many people have emotional memories of his music. For example, Margaret Cho said one of his albums was the second record she ever bought. You remember stuff like that. Love the guy or hate the guy, he had a huge impact. And his death was totally unexpected. Even just a few hours after the news broke, Twitter quieted down and everyone moved on with their lives.

I'm not a big Micheal Jackson fan, but I was saddened by his death.

Ok so I was wrong about Twitter quieting down. Something was broken.
But yeah...I used to watch Moonwalker all the time when I was a kid. Still have the VHS at my parents' house.

Ugh.....I just hope we don't get another news cycle that is like when Anna Nicole Smith died. The news corporations don't want us knowing the real news.... Still I am very upset that Michael Jackson is dead. I remember him doing "Heal the World" for a halftime show for one of the Superbowls (I have no clue which one) and now I want to go to Disney Land so I can see his 3-D show again. Tears he was an AWESOME musician. Regardless of all the bad press and all the accusations he had revolving around him, the world has just lost one of its most talented people.

Not to mention all the REVOLUTIONARY music videos he made. Pretty much every single video he made pre 1995 except that one he made with Paul McCartney. I think this covers most of them...
Thriller Billie Jean Scream Leave Me Alone (highly underrated, IMO) Smooth Criminal Moonwalker Black or White Remember the Time

I was saddened by this - he was incredibly talented and should be remembered fondly for it. I think he was a very unhappy person, think he had a very difficult childhood regardless of his early fame but he brought so much joy to so many people. Three quarters of a billion album sales - that's never going to be matched.
