YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!! ;D FINALLY got my Insomnia on DVD!!!!!! well i know i've said it many times, but it's not the Amercan remake, but a Norwegian 2:30 long film. i've decided to stay up & watch it the whole night over & over again, despite the fact that i've seen it 200 times on VHS. i just LOVE it!!!Euro films are WAY better than most Hollywood blockbusters IMHO. you have to see it & use your brain to feel it. GOD i'm so FUCKING happy right now!!! i feel totally mind-twisted, as i feel so everytime i watch this one. anyone digs decent arthouse thrillers have to see this!! BTW, quite the contrary as the name suggests, it's rather boring & slow & makes you quite sleepy...

I agree the non American version of this film is better. It much eerier. But I think Christopher Nolan did an okay job with the remake. Al Pacino wasn't as good as Stellen but I think he did a fine job. Better than I actually expected.
Have you seen Aberdeen? I have it on my list of films to see.

oh yes. Aberdeen is also knida weird, but heart-breakingly beautiful. Stellan's performance was so real you almost hate him for being such a jerk. then the soty unfolds & you really see inside of his character as if he exist. & everybody else has a side that surprise you. i rarely see such developed characters all in a movie. & it's definitely non-Hollywood style, like i said it's all so painfully real, especially the ending(or is it another beginning?)... HIGHLY RECOMMANDED...
