(One of Lilith @ division 13's posts gave me the idea to start a thread about this movie) So I saw Troy and I was really disappointed. I expected something as intense and beautiful as Gladiator, but it has nothing to do with it. Brad Pitt has no charisma in this role, I couldn't take him seriously. and I doubt Achille had long blond hair and blue-green eyes. The battlescenes are great, but very repetitive, and the duel between Achille and Hector (Eric Bana) is quite ridiculous because of those 'matrixian' moves. I doubt Greek people could spin in the air like that.. And the lines were also quite rdiculous, how can one say "By the power of the Gods, I will have my revenge" without laughing ?? It's a shame because they could have used the money in better ways, had they been a little more creative (for instance the scene where the Troyans attack the Greeks at dawn with those huge flaming hayballs is really beautiful, but it's the only thing I think is good in this movie )

well I saw it during the release week, and I hadn't heard/read any reviews on it. I expected a great show, but I was bored.

I didn't dislike it, but I was kinda bored. I don't know really anything about the Trojan War except the basic stuff, but I just kept thinking how inaccurate it all had to be. Eric Bana did a good job. Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom did not.
It was funny in all of Pitt's nude scenes you could hear all the women gasping in unison.

Potatos are yummy... plus I do know how to watch what I eat... as of lately... haven't been eating much... but I did just eat (actually suck the juice out of) half of an orange.... and I'm going to have some pizza (yeah... greasy and icky... but it should fill me up) and then I'm going to make sure to remember to have something thawed out (meat's in the freezer) and use the veggies that are in the freezer/frige/cans in the cupboard to make a decent meal tommorow... no potatos... what the hell was I saying? Well... pizza is here... food must have!

you should try Chinese... much healthier... Hmm.... I'm thinking I will... plus on another board there's a nice woman who talks about making some kick ass philipino food... I'm think I hgave something else I shall add onto the list for my things to do this summer... - get good cooking ware, tupper ware, and a nice collection of herbs, spices and other such necesities and try doing some really serious cooking... I'll even enlist the help of my uncles (they will eat almost anything), some friends (I have a guy friend who loves to cook who I could bounce ideas off of and probably have help me out as well and a gal friend who loves to critique food... she eats well and doesn't show a much... lucky chicka!!! lol) hmm... I'm going to have a fun and busy summer ahead of me... Yay!

aww! Well, whatever might have went wrong, if you start off looking at what went wrong you can probably adjust to that. If there was a fire or something, I did the same thing quite a few times in a way... when I was younger (about around 10) I went to go and cook a grilled cheese... I forgot to check how clear underneath the burners were.... well, I turned on the burner to cook, and once it heated up, some flames rose up... I screamed, and the landlord (as much as I hate his guts, but he was once a fireman) heard me from over at his little car shop (it's not all that far from the house that once stood and that I use to live in) saw what was going on, was able to unplug the stove, and told me to just chill (I was horrified... I thought I was going to burn the house down...) the fire wasn't as bad as I thought it was... just had to let the debris crap in the burner burnoff... since then I've learned to keep an eye on what I'm doing with a stove and any other thing that can cause fires... ;D

well if i keep looking at what went wrong i'll probably have to look at the whole thing all over again i mean i started a little fire, cut my own finger, turned the freshest meat into some poisonous chemical known as SHIT... well i'm afraid there's too much for me to be afraid of in the kitchen ;D
