I was doing some research for a project (one on censorship) and I came across a movie called Freaks by Tom Browning, the guy who made the Dracula movies with Bela Lugosi in them. Amazon: Freaks VHSand I found a rather interesting picture as to what happens to the evil lady trapese artist known as Cleopatra (Olga Baclanova).... Don't look if you are easily grossed outthey turned her into a duck lady... hee hee...

Hmm.... I do have a warped sense of humor... ;D But the reason that it makes me laugh is that the evil lady deserves it! I've read things about the movie, saying how she seduces a midget who is wealthy and then poisons him to get his money. So the other members of the side show act (friends of the midget) then get revenge by turning Cleopatra into a duck lady.

speaking of censorship. nothing bothers me more than that i spent half of my time in HK, and the rest of my years in mainland china. in HK they use the Euro standard of censorship(which basically means no censorship at all), in China American. & i actually think that censorship is STUPID... i can think a dozen examples to prove my point if you want them for your report

really? that would be a help. I think censorship wouldn't be neccesary if adults (Parents, older siblings, other older relatives, trusted teachers) would be willing to disscuss things and help the child form a healthy view of things, but not imposing their own view points... though adults tend to like the easy way out... it's part of human nature that some people have overcome, yet most Gov't, religous, and sometimes even school officials are innept of seeing things from another's view point... I hope that makes sense.... I'm hungry and I'm having difficulty seeinf because I had a camera flash go off in my face... I see pretty dark purple spots... now blue... meep... where's the pizza at?

well we got a whole bunch of Europeans here so they should know better than i do that in Europe there really isn't so much of TV censorship. & you probably should've known by now that some movies just fail to pull itself together after censoring... i mean i saw a great Scottish film called Breaking the Waves on DVD & both the US & Euro version was included. the film features a lot of nudity, but it was neccesary for telling the storlines. Innerwatch has seen it too, don't know which version of it but i'm sure she'll know what i'm talking about. i mean originally there was a compelling message in the movie, but after being literally "cut in pieces", a decent arthouse film was turned into some lousy porn-like movie because the story just felt incomplete... i mean i know censorships are meant to make movies more watchable on television, but in most cases i see, they usually ruin the artisticy of a movie rather than making it suitable for teenagers. i mean films are an art form, & policies just are supposed to get in the way. there're paintings & sculptures & photographies that feature undisirable things, why should movies be excluded from that category?? of course there're things that kids are not supposed to see, but hiding it does not make it easier... i'll continue... later...

Yay! Some one else who's ticked off about censorship possibly even more than me! although.... I'm kind of stopping on the report... I'm going to just try the 12th grade over again next year.... I am going to go rant on my web journal thing now... I was about to go into rant ode right here, but I must try and actually put the rants where they belong...
