youtube.com/watch?v=0LtxHqcIZdQWhop him low, and whop him high, stick your finger in his eye, pretty little rhythm, pretty little sound, bang your heads against the groouund! Promenade all around the room, promenade like a bride and groom, Open up the door, and step right in, close the door, and into a spin. Whirl, whirl, twist and twirl, jump all around like a flying squirrel.

As smart as I think I am (I was a straight 'A' student who dropped out of high school), I am sometimes veeeeeeery slooooooow.
As in, after having been a member of this board for a whole year this month, I'm only now just wising-up to what this "Avant Garde" thread is about.
I went to google "Avant Garde" (I wasn't exactly sure what that meant), and I'm now wondering if there might be a better title to give this thread that would be ...more inviting? ...than "Avant Garde."
I now realize there are some 'new thread' entries I've made in the "General Topics" section over the past year that I should have simply posted in this "Avant Garde" thread ...if I had known what was going on this freakingly exotic titled "Avant Garde" thread.
Might this thread be better named if it were simply named like ..."Odds 'N' Ends Thread"?
I am sooooooo slooooooow, lmao.

If you like George Carlin's bit on "the seven dirty words", you're in for a treat here. Steven Pinker talks about profanity [and other topics in his book "The Stuff of Thought"] on C-SPAN2. C-SPAN2 onscreen warning: This program contains lauguage and content that some may find offensive. Adavance to 3:30 in the first the link where the topic turns to ..."This is really, really fucking brilliant" (Bono of U2). Steven Pinker on C-SPAN2 - 3/8 (advance to 3:30 on timebar) www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdKzeiqOJpMSteven Pinker on C-SPAN2 - 4/8 www.youtube.com/watch?v=XySK_cc-GIMSteven Pinker on C-SPAN2 - 5/8 www.youtube.com/watch?v=_M4bJ3vDVUI

Not to be a total lame-o, but actually really really loud noises can harm a fetus. However, unless this lady is sleeping in the same room as a jackhammer, I don't think it's going to be a problem.
