i actually don't think i was talking down to you about it at all. it's the field in which i work. and there are good people who put in a ton of time and effort into making the radio and television programs the best they can for the people watching and listening. so to a certain degree i'm defending myself. not talking down to you. Exactly, stations want audience members to STAY tuned in, and not get fluked by a video. Surely by next week we could see the video being rotated, but I think it's best to think that it will take time for it to catch on, just look how long it took US to catch onto Bleed Like Me.

It was also played last night, hopefully it could gain some momentum for it to be a taster on VH1's Top 20, and hoping it will catch on and go on heavy rotation.

maybe. it's a slower paced song, which is what VH1 likes anyway.

Heres a thing, if the Mariah and Backseet Boys fans like to spam, then why not us? Surely is wouldn't hurt us, and even mailing them a letter like I did to request BLM to be played more. I say we campaign and do what every other stupid spammer does, and spam up Garbage on the VH1 boards.

I think 90% of the fans that were so eager to request and promote Garbage in the beginning have lost that motivation now. That happens to everyone, especially since the album has been out for 6 weeks, the initial excitement has worn off, and there's a general feeling of "the album isn't doing so hot now, but what can we do?"
I'm trying to do my part, but I'll admit, it takes a lot more than it used to for me to even email a station.

I just look at is as it's my job to help promote a band. Usually when I have that mentallity I tend to really dwell in and e-mail and request as much as I can. I think if we get about 15 people to help us, we would have enough to e-mail and request on each station. WDYLM was successfull on radio because mostly ALL of us here on the MB (the active ones) requested it, and did so on a daily basis.
If we just do the same with BLM, we could get this sucker growing fast, as WDYLM did.

a lot of people in the general public also liked WDYLM though
it's not like if the people on this board didn't request it, it wouldn't have done well
considering that very few fans are trying to help BLM (the song) out, it's doing better than I thought at this point. I still don't expect it to go beyond the Top 25, but considering that it's basically a ballad sung by a female, even that is something on alternative radio in 2005.

But we sure did help the plays, the request thread we had before was active each day, and I remember on a daily basis at least 3 times requesting WDYLM. It did help that we had members who gave us links. Surely we didn't make a HUGE impact, but we did at least bring it up in the charts.
I am used to doing this because my work does this, usually we have to LOVE the band or company we are helping promote, so I get my gear and set a promotional binge.
I will still be requesting and writing letters, because as much as I don't care for numbers or awards, I would like to see songs that I love do well.

There definitely seems to be a lack of motivation for us to request BLM, which is not surprising, considering hardly any on the board agreed with it being the best 2nd single. I had several talks with the program director at my station, though, and he then began to play it. It can work, but we need people indigenous to their area to vote, because as aforementioned, many stations have trackers.

OK, does Geffen mean that both SINTE and RBR will be released in the USA or just RBR?
