SINTE, CCTT, SYM, BB....etc.
I remember when the BG website first started back in 2001, people started to refer to the songs by the first letter of each word...SYM, NLY, SLAR,....and at first, I hadn't a CLUE as to what people were saying! Finally after a few months I caught on...but anyways, are fans so LAZY to make out the whole song? I mean, I can understand "IJWHSTD" (I Just Wanna Have Something To Do) or "TTITKB" (The Trick Is To Keep Breathing), but are we SO lazy to do them to songs like "Bad Boyfriend" or "Push It"? I use them on occassion when I am tired or lazy to write anything, but it's not just used on this and the official board, but on myspace and other boads I frequent. And even those members say they haven't a clue as to what they are saying. I just can't see why people wouldn't type out a few more letters to make the songs name...."Run Baby Run" for example, takes a whole second more to type out the whole thing rather than put "RBR".
Anyways, just a little rant....nothing on a specific person or anything, just a little coo-coo from it all.

I don't think it's soley Garbage fans, loads of people do it - it's just convenience. ITIP is quicker than typing "I Think I'm Paranoid" by a few seconds at least.

I use the abbreviations sometimes cos I'm so desperate to get my opinion across that I can't be arsed to write the whole word. Sad Huh? lol

I usually type the abbreviations for the more "common" ones like ITIP or OHWIR, but I have to admit I sometimes get confused and have to do some thinking (*gasp*) when I run into some rarer ones like EINE or ..um.. SNGOOF. Also, I try not to shorten song names with just two words.. like PI, UM or BB =P ooh.. or one word.. T! or T

Jean, who are you on kittyradio.....i'm garbagefan I'm on there, too, as OneWayNotGrr (for some reason the L didn't register when I did!!!) I never usually abbreviate. I even put Har har instead of LOL to show my laughing! Bad grammar, spelling and stuff like that annoys me (especially since it's most of the fluent English speaking people who are too lazy, whereas I would rather read what someone from an Non-English speaking country, simply because they are grammatically correct...). It IS lazy, and I abhore it. And it's hard to figure out, sometimes, which song is being talked about.

I wouldn't call it LAZY. I would call it a practical time saver.
I don't agree with shortening the 2 word song titles, and sometimes 3 word titles -- but anything 3+ is a little ridic to have to continue to type it out
And its not like ppl here don't know what you are talking about. Heh.

now ku-wait a minute
I think it's fine to do...and most people online do it in reference to some topic they are talking with other "fans" of the same thing
however
when people can't type "Push It" or "Use Me", that's a little annoying
speaking of this kind of thing, I don't understand the people who type "kewl" instead of "cool". 1. It does NOT save you time. 2. It doesn't look "kewl" (or "cool") at all.
