Alin tone it down. No fighting here. Discuss, not fight

If it's just TOO much for you handle on your ears though, could you not just enjoy it through your stereo? I've tried listening to it every which way I can think of at this point: cheap headphones, expensive headphones, stereo, PC, on my TV through my PS3 system. Either way, it's always just a one way ticket to migraine-ville, or a lot of faffing around with the EQ settings for the first 5 songs. It's not like I just got so frustrated that I gave up, smashed the CD and cursed Garbage to the heavens. I mean, it's a cool record and all. I've listened to it from beginning to end about 2 dozen times, and it's easily their best album since V2.0. So, not wanting to give up, I've even taken to re-EQ'ing a lossless rip of the album using Audacity, and I think I'm getting somewhere down this route. I've managed to take The One and turn it from looking like this to this. It's not perfect, but I'm happy with the results so far. The songs are still loud when they need to be, but they're also a lot "bouncier". There's just more feeling and depth to them. It's a definite improvement on my ears. Let's just say, the volume knob on my MP3 player goes up to 30: I can listen to the album version at half-volume, maximum; but I can cram my own version all the way up to 25 without any problems. It's just a shame I had to resort to doing this in the first place, but hopefully I can get this right eventually. And, for once, I can agree with Alin. I'm done here too. I've been trying my best to explain my position politely for the past 4 pages, and have been getting nothing but childish insults thrown my way from Alin/Deepblue/whoever. The only thing left to do would be to become equally vile, and I don't want to put the rest of you guys through that, because 80% of you have been pretty cool. So I've no problem with this thread being locked. Tah.
