Is a new Fiona Apple album finally on the way? Twenty Four Bit spotted a profile of drummer Charley Drayton in which Drayton says he's working on Apple's next album. In the article, Modern Drummer writes that the album, which Dayton is currently "playing [on], co-producing, and mixing," is scheduled to be released in the spring of 2011. Apple's last album, 2005's Extraordinary Machine, had to be re-recorded after disputes with Epic Records over its commercial viability. Apple didn't resurface until she released a pair of tracks on a Cy Coleman tribute album last year. In June of this year, Apple and producer Jon Brion collaborated on the song "So Sleepy," which was written by children in the 826LA non-profit organization. www.rollingstone.com/music/news/17386/204334
