So, I saw Grave of the Fireflies for the first time today. This is the first movie that has actually made me cry. I mean that. I'm not an emotional dude. I've seen sad movies before(The Pursuit of Happyness, Schindler's List, The Green Mile, etc). And this is the only movie that has made me cry. I had tears running down my cheeks during certain scenes. Man, this movie really doesn't pull any punches. If your in the market for a powerful movie experience, well, it doesn't get more powerful than this.

Thanks for sharing (+1 exalt). I googled it for more info, and I'm interested in seeing this one.
My recommendation for a tear-jerker:
The Stone Boy (1984), starring Robert Duvall, Glenn Close, Wilford Brimley, Linda Hamilton, and Dean Cain.
I just learned about this on the web today: The director of "The Stone Boy" is Christopher Cain. Chistopher Cain is the adopted father of Dean Cain. And "The Stone Boy" was Dean Cain's 3rd feature film appearance in his acting career. Dean Cain plays the part of "Eugene" the 17-year-old brother of 12-year-old "Arnold" (played by Jason Presson).
The storyline of "The Stone Boy" is very simple:
Arnold [for whom the title of this movie is refering to] accidentally shoots and kills his older brother Eugene. This happens in the first 5 minutes of the movie (Dean Cain's screentime in this movie is only 5 minutes long). The rest of the movie is about how Arnold and his family mentally struggle to come to terms over this god-awful tragedy.
So, 5 minutes into this movie, you become very much aware that you are caught in the jaws of a monster tear-jerker of a movie that's going to totally clean out your emotional clock.
I've literally viewed this movie 30+ times (of course I have it on DVD).
In my 100th viewing of this movie, I'll be as emotionally wasted watching it as I was the first time I ever saw it.
For guys, I recommend that you view this movie alone by yourself, or with someone with whom your are very comfortable with to allow all of your emotions to hang out.
