It's another used one for $100. It's a lot better than that POS loaner I was using with sticky keys, and settings I couldn't change. I am still holding out for a brand new one for a month or so. I forgot how much time it takes to set-up all of the settings, and adding anti-virus, and all of the nifty software I used to have on my old one. I have been at it for two hours, and still not done. The re-building of my video, and MP3 archives will take months. Oh well, I plan on living for a while. So I have time still. Now I have to decide, do I buy a new Mac, or another Windows based laptop?

Definitely get a Mac. The MacBooks are a bit more expensive than a run of the mill PC laptop, but you will save yourself time and frustration in that you won't have to do as much f$cking around with the thing. That is a major plus to Apple completely controlling the hardware. Oh and the battery life on the new MacBooks is really good. You might be able to get a refurb for a good price.
My dream laptop is the 15" Macbook Pro, but those are quite a bit more money. But again...you might be able to get a good used one or a refurb.

They are really nice....I have an older 15" MBP. I think it is the perfect size. Big enough to have two docs side by side but small enough that it's still easily carried with you. Yes, old man..you WILL be able to read the text on the screen with one of them :-p

Oh Dan...You will want to wait on a MBP. The hardware is in desperate need of refreshing. Once they release new MBPs, THEN I'd say get one for sure.

You sure? So it's like the iPhone I want to buy. Just wait for the next generation. So the first Apple products I am buying, almost everyone says buy. But a few say wait, they are outdated. Sounds more and more like Microsoft based products. Oy vey.
